I only follow one CC, BadKarma, the other is DEFYN strictly for early jet reviews otherwise I couldn’t care less, his voice annoys me and his sense of humor is the sort you’d find in a discord call on a squadron discord. That’s it, I usually don’t watch videos related to video games, they’re all largely boring and quaint.
As for the whole parasocial relationship people develop for youtubers and the likes, I never, ever understood that, it’s bizarre to me. Same goes for youtuber discord servers or whatever, ew.
Especially considering what Twitter is now, renders that “joke” stupid… But yes it’s the immature references and the crude low brow “humor” that gets ridiculous.
This whole channel is basically this, but to be fair he’s also a monster at the game (and it’s genuinely informative without jokes/quips, personally I cut volume.)
Honestly, I noticed it’s been getting worse. Way more political than back in the day. A frustrathing thing, but I guess not unexpected given millitary/WW2 enthusiasm tends to attract such.
It kinda made me nope out hard, all the same.
… It’s generally a curse with WT CCs. Another CC I enjoy watching opened their discord to new people. Joined. Did a ctr+f for certain keywords, checked some conversations. Noped out after realizing people like me are highly unwelcome.
Oh an Il2. There’s a tutorial maker I used to recommend. I got randomly recommended the guy’s squadron/clan recruitment video and… “I guess there’s a reason this guy mains german fighters beyond the fact they’ve got cool cockpits and easy handling.”
This one in particular is “Hilarious.”

As for discord servers, I avoid them like the plague, especially Defyn’s server which has a “Brown” role and people making fun of you “for being brown”, was promptly booted when I inquired what that role meant and wether he knew how bad it looked from a normal person’s pov, but he’s dutch and that country love to defend lovely things like blackface so whatever.
And yeah youtubers in general tend to be massive reactionary goobers, what a fun world, eh?
