Nuke mechanic rework

At the moment, whenever you’re taking off with a nuke, chances are the score looks something like this:

So, your side is winning, we have successfully captured all objectives, and… we decided to nuke it? And our entire tank force? This doesn’t make any sense. It would make sense if the loosing side had chosen to employ a nuke to deny the winner the objectives.

So, this is what I’m proposing: let the nuke be available only to the loosing side. Reduce it’s cost since they are likely not gonna have as many spawn points. And also put in place adequate restrictions to prevent the game ending after 5 minutes. Like, for example, the nuke becomes available only if your team score is less than half of the enemy score and they control the majority of capture points on the map.

The outcome of the match would not be considered a normal win or loss, but will have unique rules for determining the rewards. Let’s say the winner’s team rewards get reduced by 1/3 for failing to stop a nuke while the side that successfully nuked the map gets that 1/3 given to them.

Nuke is good the way it is now. Spawn points should not be reduced as nuke is reward for excellent performance during match. Also its not like there is nuke in every game so why limit skilled player on winning team that made his way to nuke.

The nuke is a reward for doing good and a way to end the match quicker if you are already winning and give you a chance to win if you are loosing. it should not be a “reward” for doing “bad”.
it’s good the way it is, its rare but still seen.

The only thing i would perhaps change is give it air spawn but still far from field to at least give the opponents a chance to shoot it down but less chance than now. it really sucks if you have played really well and get the nuke but are then shot down and not able to deliver it. its so demoralising x) The risk of being shot down should still be there but less than now.

Chances of getting your nuke being shoot down is highly dependent on situation of battle. It is up to you to decide if it is worth to spawn nuke now, or wait until air is more clear for delivery. Also from my experience seeing nuke to get shot down is even more rare. From all games I played, where nukes were dropped(I personally did not get shot down once), it was like once or twice. It is like 1-2% of games with nukes.

oh absolutely, but i also at a greater rate now than before see people be more willing to J-out of their tank and spawn a plane or AA as soon as they hear the Nuke-siren. i don’t know why that is but it seems harder to get the nuke of now than before.

I think the best solution is to remove the nuke entirely.
Thing is stupid.
Remove attack drones also.

honestly, if you have the advantage and a random guy manages to nuke, the problem is different

Only if they bring navals BR-appropriate random aircraft to GRB. Attack drones are good in that they do provide some CAS for players that haven’t played air, but it isnt done very well atm.

Just leave it as it is.

Nukes are a non-issue. Why would we change it?

Personally, I would support it being removed as a “win” condition but retain your idea for the reward adjustment. All objectives and ground forces, regardless of team, were just destroyed. Neither side can claim this is a victory in any logical sense.

This is correct - and is actually an immersion killer. The nuke itself is not a bad idea, but the location of the drop, the drop itself and the attack pattern is totally unrealistic.
