Not wasting my time with the F-15C "Golden Eagle"

that is insane IMO xd

Honestly as it is rn theres no reason to use the F15C GE over the 13.7 F15C.

  1. 13.7 is just a much better br to be at
  2. the F15 already had one of the better mechanical radars so your not gaining a whole lot with the AESA update for the large br increase.
  3. flight performance is the same witch means you can either be very good at 13.7 or mid at best at 14.3
  4. Bol Pods are nice but dont do much for a plane that already had 240 countermeasures and don’t really justify a jump up by 2 brs
  5. Aim120C-5 is a beyond artificially nerfed and is just a side grade at best. ( the devs have yet to undo the aim120 turning nerfs even with the dominance of the MICA)

This would really level the field at least on medium to close range engagements, but Gaijin doesn’t care.

yeah its crazy to me that the aim120s are in the state they are in rn. i assume to devs think the game is the same as it was when they first came out and people just climbed in a strait line and range was all that mattered.

Thank you laying out everything, super helpful :) . so to clarify, the 2040C racks were physically tested, the aircraft was wired, and the Golden Eagles already share the relevant avionics backbone, APG-63(V)3, JHMCS, EW upgrades, and the mission computer capable of managing expanded missile loadouts.

If the F-15C is meant to be competitive at top tier, then giving it the additional missiles it was demonstrably capable of carrying fits both the gameplay balance and Gaijin’s own standards for weapon inclusion? (I feel like other weapons have been added for a lot less)

yeah but it will not change anything man they cannot repair visual glitches since the release

I get what you’re saying, new players usually don’t know the general consensus or where to look for it. But that actually supports my point rather than weakens it.

If a new player doesn’t know what is good or bad, they end up relying heavily on surface-level impressions. And for a lot of players, the “top” aircraft of a nation is a big part of that impression. Even if they don’t research stats, many players do look at the tech tree layout, what the top jet looks like, and what content creators showcase.

That’s why the perception of the top-tier vehicle still matters.
If the top-BR aircraft looks weak, dated, or uninteresting, that absolutely affects whether someone wants to invest time or money into that nation.

This isn’t hypothetical, it’s the same reason nations with flashy top-tier vehicles (like the Su-30, Rafale, Eurofighter, and so on) see higher sales and player interest. This doesn’t mean the US isn’t popular, but it does mean that when a nation’s top-tier jet looks noticeably weaker or less exciting compared to its competitors, it inevitably affects how attractive that nation appears to new players, especially those deciding where to spend money on premiums (most likely high tier). It has pretty much been 1 year of raf dominance, buy any chance could that have positively affected that nations sales?

And yes, new players may not know the deep meta, but they can still recognise when a top-BR jet has fewer missiles or fewer capabilities compared to others they see in videos or in the hangar. That alone affects attractiveness, even without them doing forum research.

So the argument isn’t “new players read all the stats.”
The argument is “first impressions matter, and a weak top-tier vehicle makes a nation less appealing.”

That’s why the F-15C having its proper missile loadout/Flight model (I would just like one or the other) isn’t just a balance issue but also a marketing and appeal issue, I really don’t think it will have a huge impact, but I think people out there will maybe think twice before investing time and money when the it doesn’t lead to anything worth your while. Again I must clarify I don’t hold this perspective of, “well if the top tier vehicle is bad then the nation is bad”. Recently got some of my friends into war thunder, they specifically choose nations with strong and competitive top tier vehicles and that was without my input, they based there decisions on the health of that nations top tier, and not a single one chose US.

This is an extremely wise line of thought imho.

Thanks man :)

and both MSIP and f15A should get BOL pods too

Nah, just MSIP. The F-15A has a good stock of CMs for its BR range

yeah but they used BOL in service IRL

so absolutely should have it in game

what is the weight of the f-15c in war thunder?

about 3 school busses loaded full of elder people and their medication.
Su 30 is 2 busses and rest are about 1 empty bus in 14.3 br

this is the truth

Doesn’t the su-30 weigh more than the f-15c? by like 30% or smt

yes, but it is still feels more manouvrable compared to F15C, maybe that thrust gives it more oomph to move those eldies and meds :D

I think most us air players will stick with the F-15E since it carries more missiles and flares/chaffs

I think it just pulls harder, T/W wise the su30 is underwhelming

And another awesome part for this flying piece of…
After unlocking BOL mod, you can insert bol on stock 9M even that you dont have 9m unlocked, but you cant use em on stock 120, since you dont have 120’s unlocked…
Awesome piece of machine…
Especially when we have 2 useless mods allready in there ( Aim 9L and 9M)
