Not wasting my time with the F-15C "Golden Eagle"

yeah gaijin kinda shot themselves in the foot by giving eft 120c

because it took away their ability to use it as a balancing tool

23214 lbs of thrust on the pw-229 should be 29000 lbs
{B82EAA28-A11F-48B9-B181-4144BD4B8999}

yeah, all f15s have much higher than normal channel losses in game

and the c and e have messed up thrust curves that are missing a lot of low speed thrust

Current missiles and payload limit it.
The PK for any missile shot outwith 15km is pretty low.

My point is they could have just modernized the Eagle or added the EX. Instead they add this garbage, typical gaijin to add the earliest versions of our tech

“A little bit faster” 😂 In that video I’m watching this guy turn at up to 9 G’s Mach 2 and not losing speed at all. Not to mention that being faster to Mach 2 than basically everything in the game (at that time). It was an overdue fix for something clearly overperforming.

Be happy that it is now a straight line monster and not… whatever that was. Something that heavy shouldn’t be able to do outperform something like the Eurofighter so casually.

You’re confusing static thrust with installed thrust. Installed thrust will always be lower than static because of channel losses

With how the C was implented missing most of it’s required features it did little to improve the F-15.
Sadly what the F-15, Gripen and Typhoon need is a HOB a missile that can be used like the R-77-1/MICA etc. 120s are pretty much useless in a near merge and the 9M doesn’t cut it when the target is defending.

it has a lot more thrust than eft

and probably more optimized thrust curves for high speed

yes, normaly in game that is 10-15%

for all the f15s its closer to 20-25%

I will say this even Raptor guys are impressed with Typhoons thrust.

And in near 20 years of service Typhoon has never needed an engine upgrade to keep it competitive.

according to?

btw f15e has a slightly better empty static thrust to weight than eft
and again is likely more optimized for high speed and altitude due to the lack of focus on low speed performance

Not a justification imo, did the already (march 2025) amazingly performing Rafale stop the Mica from getting a seeker advantage? No it didn’t.

The aim120 being mid is solely due to gaijin laziness in improving their stuff, the reposrts have been up for God knows how long, and yet, they weren’t implemented.

It shouldn’t be able to outperform the Eurofighter in acceleration because the F-15E design wasn’t optimised for pure air-to-air aerodynamic performance in the same way the Typhoon was. The F-15E is a heavy, rugged strike jet built to carry bombs over long distances; the Typhoon is a light interceptor built for speed and agility.

As for this:

This is likely true at very high Mach numbers (Mach 2.0+). The F-15 is indeed credited with a slightly higher absolute top speed (~Mach 2.5 vs the Eurofighter’s official Mach 2.35).

However, acceleration in the critical combat regime (transonic/supersonic, e.g., Mach 0.8 to Mach 1.5) is where the Eurofighter excels due to its much lower drag and superior operational thrust-to-weight ratio. The F-15 only pulls ahead at extremely high speeds where the ram effect is maximised for its engines

No, American stuff is literally nerfed compared to other aircraft.

Wdym “no” when you just proved my point 😭

EDIT (because I felt bad for not contributing meaningfully):

The F-15E’s design has inherently more drag and less efficient airflow integration than the newer, sleeker designs of the Typhoon and Rafale.

Gaijin models this real-world drag and installation inefficiency as a higher ‘thrust loss’ percentage in the game interface. The Rafale and Typhoon are simply more optimised airframes that “waste” less of their engine’s raw power.

Your beloved rafale/eurofighters are over performing compared to the F-15e. I made my point that the F-15e’s engines are nerfed. I don’t even know what point you are trying to make.

The numbers are literally there. Anyone can do the math themselves.

The F-15e should have 15% more thrust in game.

What they should’ve done is move the F-15E with dev server 120C-5s, the Rafale, and the Typhoon without 120C-5s to 14.3. Either that or we should not have gotten C-5s as early as we did (or MICA buffs) until top tier was 14.3+.

It also forced Gaijin to nerf them heavily because the EFT would have been incredibly OP at 14.0 with them.

Spading the F-16I was such a pain with the radar. At least with the EFT the NCTR would sometimes help me determine what were ghost targets and what weren’t. with the F-16I just had to guess and hope for the best.

Well do you have actual numbers how much thrust the F15E loses irl compared to dry thrust?
