7.7 Germany is so so so bad but yea I don’t really pay attention to none European tech trees because I don’t personally find them interesting
I don’t think so. The export industry is very extensive, even Tornado has like 30 different variants or more, and I am still discovering new ones I hadn’t heard of to this day. Piranhas include all the modern versions with various RWS, unmanned turrets, etc. If we laid it all out flat you would be surprised at the sheer quantity.
My issue is that there is German stuff to fill those gaps instead, we don’t need another nation to come and do that lest the tree lose its identity over time.
And what of the early Leopard prototypes w/90mm cannons, and various M48 or T-54 modifications? They could achieve the same result.
There are many variants of the Piranha and Shark of course, but again, Germany has stuff available you know. TPz Fuchs for example has fitted the Wildcat and CM90 turrets, as well as 25mm cannons. Or of course, the tracked LTs/IFVs of Germany have even more options, like the Puma universal chassis (not the IFV), Marder, and RU~~~ prototypes. Even then, I am definitely forgetting many others.
Such is the case with Gaijin I suppose. Nonetheless, I am happy you at least support an Alpine tree; I assure you it would fill out nicely if given the attention it deserves.
I think that maybe 7.0-8.0 SPAA is the only other point you could get me with, but even then I’m sure there’s a solution, if not an ad-hoc one.
There’s really not many considering gajin doesn’t like adding east German stuff and the German identity won’t be lost from the tree lmao the swiss use so much German stuff typically guns or engines or had German companies help
We have all the useful m48 mods and the t54s that were modified would end up being a higher br then where the gaps are so it wouldn’t help the mid tier issues
There are certain some options but again most don’t solve and issues the German tree has while some of the swiss vehicles fit wonderfully like the lack of German wheeled tanks or mid tier tanks
Less MBTs and supermodern garbage that’s just “some NATO gun on slightly different hull”. Give us WW1 toasters or bring back some old events for once.
Gap between Tiger II and M48A2 C is prominent, best I could come up with is a Tiger II with late production upgrades that were designed and built but never installed on any vehicles. This, perhaps alongside some sort of late war 88mm APHEDS (if such a thing exists), would almost certainly justify a BR of 7.0+.
In the medium line you could see one last Panther added at 6.3, unfoldered but better than the others.

Panther II: King Panther (Schmale Blendenausführung) - Suggestions / Ground - War Thunder — official forum
At 7.0 you could see, as I previously mentioned, the Team B prototypes for the Leopard 1.

At 7.3 or 7.7 in the medium line you have the freedom to choose another Leopard 1 prototype, perhaps with an alleged autoloader like on B-1 or some other quirk.
True, for some reason I was thinking the spaced armor mod covered the hull, but nevermind.
You mentioned the gap being “7.0-8.7”, I was thinking the T-54s would work for some of the upper echelons. The T-54AMZ for example would be a nice 8.0 that isn’t completely copy paste.
This is only in the Cold War period, of which there are few with a caliber higher than 20mm, but in the modern era, there are many, so I think it’s a fair tradeoff. There are plenty of actual light tanks and IFVs to fill the late mid tier ranks though, so I disagree that Swiss vehicles are needed.
These are the only “good” Cold War era wheeled heavy hitters I could find, save for a couple Fuchs variants with ATGMs and the Kraka with M40A1.
And for the record, I’d be fine with the 2 Shark LATS versions and Piranha LATS going to both German and Swiss trees, considering they’re collaboration vehicles.
That’s for the cold war and all the way until modern era and even during the war germany have never really had any light tanks with good firepower
There’s not really anything important to demand a br increase of any later war tiger 2 there was a stabilization system that was never made and from what I can find exists in one document by Krupp
At this point saying swiss trees or tree alone is just cope and that is really pushing collaboration far being pretty much all of it was rheinmetalls doing lmao swiss just gave the chassis and ended up testing it rheinmetall did all the work
To each their own, 7.7 was an acquired taste I guess, I just want more stuff their
how about the experimental stabiliser for Tiger II 😏
Romanian K9 Tunetul (Thunder) for Italy. Notice all the smoke grenades on the turret. It is basically just the VIDAR in game.
IMO the camo looks really nice. I hope they use it on their Abrams and K2 Black Panther.
Does it get a lrf? Because from what I remember the normal K9 doesn’t
Maybe
The Tunetul (Romania) has the same sights as the VIDAR, while the origonal K9 (South Korea) doesnt.
Romania bought abrams and K2? Romanian army kinda cooking with these purchases
well the K2 is still questionable. They have ordered 54 Abrams, But they plan to order 300-500 K2 Black Panthers. the did some testing on one back in 2024.
They are also planning on getting a new IFV and the Red Back (South Korean) is a contender.
The K9 Moukari for Sweden/Finland
The VIDAR should have made enough sales by now to let this thing be added at this point

inb4 people are going to get rather angry seeing either Italy or a Eastern Europe TT get a K2 Black Panther before Korea is even in the game. (Knowing Gaijin this is very much a possibility)
Really? Wheeled tanks I get, at least for the Cold War period, but do you seriously not think that Germany had produced tracked light tanks or tracked FSVs from the 70s and onwards? I could list examples if you wanted, but I want to be sure I’m getting you correctly here.
Supposedly it was tested on a Panther, but I’m not really the person you should be asking on that, I only learned about it from the removed vehicles thread. Nonetheless, if the 105mm on the Tiger II 105 only acts as a menial advantage over the standard long 88, then surely an upgraded engine and rangefinder would be enough to bump the KT to 7.0
And yet it was built specifically for the U.S. Marines, which means that it was not intended to establish Shark production in Germany, and therefore Mowag was still a crucial player in actually producing more of them.
