Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Though Britain got the Challenger 2 OES. So… Im not entirely sure they are any good at their jobs

Britain is not considered as one of the “less popular nations”.

It’s not?

Figured the only popular nations were US, USSR, Sweden and Germany

It’s not. Grom has stated outright that there’s 4 major nations in the game. US, USSR, Germany, and UK. Any perceived mistreatment of UK is simply lack of options, as it is considered by Gaijin to be alongside the other majors in terms of priority.

Could have fooled me.

Despite options existing, but anyway

I guess he mean british none 2nd aircraft premium pre-order pack after F-4J Phantom F.3 (UK) and event vehicle aircraft in rank 7

No, he means why Britain didnt get a 12 until a year later than everyone else. We had a few options, but they were all tricky for various reasons.

As for Premium aircraft, we have dozens to choose from. Including more than a few that would be at 11/11.3 like the Jaguar Gr3 or Saudi Arabian Tornado IDS

We could see the Hungarian MiG 29

And by options, I mean one that would fit the mold in terms of airframe requirements. UK went from Tornado to Eurofighter which left Gaijin in a tricky state. I think Gripen C should have came with Block 50 though, rather than having any delay of time.

Yep, though in my opinion was little excuse for why we got absolutely nothing at all.

Last year we got:

March:
Tornado F3
June:
New Radar for Tornado F3
September:
Sea Harrier FRS1e (which just fixed the msitake of putting the FRS1 as a SQV. Should have been TT from the start)
October:
Nothing
December:
Gripen C

When you compare that to say, the US, with their 7 new aircraft. It kinda sucks.

Could we have gotten something interrim between Tornado F3 (which was massively late and still not finished) and Gripen C?

Maybe, BAE EAP comes to mind, or New Zealand F-16, or even something like the Harrier Gr9A with the right upgrades/loadout. That could have been really fun.

But assuming for a moment that we couldnt get thsoe for whatever reason. Why didn’t we get additions at lower BRs, I mean genuinely good additions.

  • Hawk
  • Gnat
  • Vulcan
  • Buc S2B
  • Jag Gr3A

or why several aircraft never got finished/weapon systems got fixes

  • Tornado Gr1
  • Tornado F3
  • SRAAM
  • Red Tops

(Heck even the Sea Harrier could have and should have been finished much faster than it was. Im having a blast in it now its finished, such a shame we had to wait 9 months)

Just annoys me that they used the excuse of “nothing for BR12” as an excuse to just not add anything at all and Im really scared 2024 is just going to be the same again. Sea Harrier FA2 and Tornado F3 AoP with the AMRAAM update and then nothing but uptiers till next year when we might finally get the Typhoon

Yeah it really should have, or at an absolute minimum, Sweden could have gotten the Gripen A (an actual Gripen A and not hte Gripen C with the Gripen A name like they got this last update) and then they could have gotten the Gripen C this update. Though I think the A could have come much much earlier than that, just without BOL

It’s kinda in between.
PS my complain on the Russian forum was about a lack of packs for some nations (like even c&p, which don’t require much resources to make them, so should still be profitable).

Fair enough, yeah, they could make some really quick and easy cash just C&P some vehicles and turning them into premiums. I know Britain so i’ll use Britain:

HMS York into Premium HMS Exeter (finally give us a premium heavy cruiser)
Tornado Gr1 into Premium Saudi Arabian Tornado IDS (literally same aircraft, they were ex-RAF Gr1s)

Those would be really easy packs to add

But also the other way. Sea-Vixen to the TT. That would be really fun.

I forgot about Romania and Hungry lol, yeah def even more options offered by those nations. Anything that’s not a start fighter would be a buff to the Italian air tree

Well, as we know, the EAP wasn’t an option. And wdym by NZ F-16? They had F-16s?

They had gotten as far as assigning aircraft numbers (or whatever they are called) to them. They were cancelled literally at the final moment. They certainly were more real than the F-16AJ that Japan got

It probably could have been actually , if they had applied the same creative license as they have done for other aircraft, the only thing it never did, was carry live weapons. All other objections for it got disproven

Im hoping now that China has a good stack of top tier MBT’s that Gajjin moves to flesh out areas where Chinas a bit lacking, like IFV’s and tracked light tanks at higher battle ratings. Also a new SPAA would be great, as the PGZ-04 is pretty lame and insufficient vehicle, and it’s the only thaing we get until the Tor, so something new to fill and replace it would be great, maybe one of the many TY-90 launchers china made

In this context, ‘flush’ effectively means the opposite of ‘flesh’, so I was confused for a moment reading this.

Yeah I guess it is a weird expression if your not familiar with it lol, but basically I wanna see gajjin fill in the capability gaps with China, in particular the IFV and SPAA gaps

I know what you meant, however flush in this context means to drive out or remove.

I expect them to introduce AIM-120B and AIM-120C in the same update to separate 3rd gen AMRAAM carriers from 4th gen AMRAAM carriers
