again, why shouldnt it come if it qualifies for addition, and gaijin has made far greater stretches of reality than the actual prototype YF-23, just with the missiles its bay was made to accomodate, and im sure there are many YF-23 fans who play the game, not to mention it would bring YF-23 fans to the game too
The AAM-3 was still 6 months after the AJ was added, that’s 6 more months for a missile not a vehicle, and the XF-2A was a prototype for the F-2 which is arguably worse than just adding the AJ, a fictional finished aircraft or a real prototype 6 months later, neither is good but the finished one is probably better, would be nice if they hid it now that Thailand is there but I doubt it
greater stretched for better reasons though, especially with the US being the only nation right now with more than 1 stealth aircraft the YF-23 is too much for not enough reason
If you go look in game its an MLU so close to the Taiwanese one but with a slightly worse radar variant but with Might Mouse rockets. Same RWR too. You’re correct that its not at all what the F-16AJ was meant to be. But its not doing anything risky, its an MLU with red circles. And thats my point, the AJ we got in game is not at all comparable to asking for a plane that never actually flew.

Oh no, I meant adding the AAM-3 back in December 2022, making it the defacto best IR missile in the game. It would be pretty busted being somewhat balanced being on a sub-par platform.

It really wouldn’t, IR missiles were already pretty busted back in Apex, 9L was very flare resistant already, I suppose they could give the Magic 2 treatment to it but then it wouldn’t be much of a payoff, and still no new aircraft for over 2 years in that case

i dont think it should come right now of course, but there is a fanbase, and it would serve the purpose of testing how much impact a stealth fighter would have, without advanced avionics
they could also add the YF-22, but i prefer the 23 simply because i think its cooler
YF-22 would be less of a stretch, it fired AIM-9 during testing and had provisions for a gun and 4 amraam + 2 AIM-9
I mean it makes sense, why wouldn’t China use their own missiles on their own aircraft, I get that the Russians probably can’t sell them with that capability, but the Chinese are experts at reverse engineering and modifying to suit their needs

and prototype aircraft in prototype configurations is just not something Gaijin have done, nor is it something I’d expect them to do
it wont be OP, it doesnt have thrust vector, was less manuevrable than F-22, all it has is sraight line supercruise being decent, no radar, no rwr iirc, no MAWS, no HMD, just aim-9/pitbull 120 (which means sub 16km required)
its a fast 117 that has 4-6 missiles and no gun
they also just passed the F-16XL, which was never a service aircraft, it was a prototype. yak-30 is also a prototype aircraft
Nowhere close to mattering like the AAM-3/9M tracking suspension IRCCM, which is what I’m talking about. People had no idea how to flare those and didn’t have that many flares to spam. However in the IR meta of the time, it would help the EJ Kai remain competitive.
Regardless, I do think it was a grave mistake they skipped over the prototype/early F-2s in favor of an early F-15J to then add the F-15J(M) two updates later.
The reason for the modification is that the RVV’s performance is not enough to fight against the AIM120 . So the Air Force modified it to mount the PL12

what does that even mean, the F-117s defining traits are no guns, missiles, or speed.
for consideration, doesn’t mean implementation, it means they’re deciding whether or not they should add it, it also doesn’t mean they’ll add the prototype but more likely one with similar capabilities to the F-15E with which it was competing
Yak 30 in game is in production configuration which isn’t too hard for 1940s jets as all they had were guns, the YF-23 would be a prototype as a prototype, unless you want the “what if” production F-23?

@BearHasLanded well, RVV-AE is outdated is part of the reason. and another reason, which is possibly why older MKK is also modified, is that China don’t import RVV-AE long ago, and the inventory has been almost depleted during usual training.
Gaijin needs to implement the stealth features of Eurofighter and Rafale which have already been reported. Nighthawk came with its stealth into the game, no reason not to apply it to the new top dogs.
Later for sure but right now they just need to fix the radar, stealth needs to wait for a level playing field
