Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

You would only get m109a7 and some export versions, and I don’t think the US even used the M113 when BAE bought the company that made it. Same with Bradley, only variant that would go to UK is the M3A4

The idea is that it doesn’t take away from other trees and subtrees, yes

Suits me, we could do with an IFV I think, pretty sure there was an entry to a tank competition or something from BAE land systems too, seeing as prototypes are pretty common in ground

True,

I don’t know anything about a MBT entry though

This thing, was for the MPF program, BAE came second to General Dynamics and what became the M10 Booker

Would be nice to get a light tank for Britain maybe

Hello.

As stated in the report, the sound is already planned to be changed.

Are you serious about adding Thunderbolt to the UK tt?

It surely lost the program for a reason, we get the Booker too so not really an issue

Ah, ok, either i didnt see it because off screen or i was too fast. Ty anyway.

Just discussing what manufacturer subtrees would look like

It hasn’t entered service with any nation so it should go to the nation which designed it, hence the UK. If it was added to the US it would fall into the same category as the hated “trialed” vehicles which IIRC Gaijin has said that they won’t add any more of.

It seems it was disqualified from the program because of production delays caused by Covid, the deadline was August 2020, GDLS managed to present all prototypes by December 2020 and BAE only managed February 2021, which was after the trials had begun.

Though I imagine that the actual reason was that it was not as good, or at least not significantly better, enough that picking a US company with less production issues was seen as the better choice.

We’ll uh, see about that…

BAE also produce the CV90 through their Swedish subsidiaries, and potentially the Strv 123, though the specifics of that I’m not sure on

but CV 90120 would also work as a light tank for Britain
CV90120 | STRONG, AGILE, LETHAL | BAE Systems

Why not Centauro I to USSR, VT-4 to Italy and T-84 to USA? Britain has a lot to offer as light tank that could be in-game, and honestly, CV 90 120 is so slow and sluggish that it shouldn’t be called as a light tank, compared to the CV 90 105.

Where does that link come from? The other two I can at least see sth about Ukraine and testing Centauros. I mean a 125mm Centauro I will be fun.

Not my idea tbh, just going through what a manufacturer subtree would look like, BAE has subsidiaries all over the place so this would be the result

Similar to the German CLASS 3P designed by Germany for the SA lost out to the Rooikat goes in the German tree.

This is the point where I wanted to reach, just because BAe Systems manufactures CV 90 and variations, doesn’t means Great Britain tech tree should have Swedish technology, no trials were made and no offers to the British Army about this very specific vehicle.

It’s all speculation from me, as currently Brazil’s taking part of a process for renewing the armored fleet, back in 2022 NORINCO has shown the VT-4 as part of the early phases of this process (source 1, source 2)

I’m just throwing words, Italy has nothing to do with a VT-4, if at some point Brazil is added as part of the Italian tech tree as sub tech tree or some few vehicles considering their currently relations, specially regarding the manufacturing of vehicles, there’s a small chance of it being added.

And like I said, this was not my idea, I’m just looking into the implications of someone else’s idea, I also don’t think the CV90 should be added to Britain, but there is a manufacturer link there.

Although I will take the M10 runner up if no one else is having it xD
