Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

It’s range is achieved by Man-in-loop ability, which also requires a datalink pod. But it can be operaated without pod as a simple FNF missile. then it’s range won’t matter. It’s seeker will limit it to 12km for moving target and 20km for ground point like every other IR FNF missile. 40km, 100km, 200km, none matters.
The reason for it not added is that it’s only seen in J-10C, not J-10A, but there are information about C-701/704 can be used in J-10A.

As for CM-502, it’s a 25km missile, which means it can reach 12km without Man-in-loop at least, far beyond 8km Heli FNF in game currently. that’s why it’s not added, before gaijin find a way to deal with it’s range problem

But were the mods done by East Germany?

I think the JF-17 can take that, because in DCS already provided it’s export version

Just use QN502 as the alternative version

yes it can

J-10B can be used, it has been shown to be mounted at the air show

BRs already being filled mean nothing to Gaijin. (As they love added redundant vehicles)

Besides if the nation used said vehicle in large numbers(compared to what they had) they should get it, as it was a primary service vehicle for them.

Historical lineups have been one of the most common justifiers I hear for East German vehicles, and I can completely get that. In my opinion, a much better idea would be to create modes based around historical battles that allow vehicles to be pulled from all nations in order to create historical lineups.

For example, a fictional East VS West German standoff mission would allow the user to pull unique DDR vehicles from Germany and Soviet-made stuff from Russia. It would be a grand, but replayable experience that would provide increased rewards and maybe even something new to justify using similiar vehicles over and over.

Or, if the sub nation folders suggestion is implemented, East Germany can be an official German sub nation. That I wouldn’t be opposed to.

I would like to see this bomb for China

or the Shilka and T-55/T-54

They add nothing to Germany that the nation doesn’t already have, so no, they should not be added.

that’s not entirely correct

Shilka is at 8.0 instead of 8.3 like the gepard, it fills a (small) gap

T-54 adds an Armoured alternative to the Leopard 1 at 8.0

T-55 adds a stabilised alternative to the M48G at 8.3

BMP-2 adds a 30mm gunned IFV alternative to the Marder 1A3

so in addition to adding vehicles that Germany Bought, Used, and still sort of owns those would even add to strengthening the german Lineups at the BRs where they’re most mediocre

I worded that wrong. I meant that there are indigenous alternatives for all of them, regardless of whether or not they’ve been added yet.

As for the T-54 being an armoured alternative to the Leopard 1, not every nation needs to have every capability. Missing out on one or two isn’t a bad thing.

For the BMP-2, there’s the Marder 2, also.

Marder 2 didn’t even finish development

Many vehicles in game didn’t. That doesn’t mean it won’t or can’t be added.

there is no alternative to the Shilka, unless you wanna put the Flakpanzer M42 (Duster) at 8.0

there was no Stabilised M48 and the other one really can’t be increased jn BR

I’ve read about a West German AA that competed with the Gepard that had 30mm cannons, which could go there.

There are other Leopard 1 variants that could fill that gap.

you’d need a full Justification argument for every singe of those Prototypes

the only reason you don’t want the vehicles the German armies had immediately after WWII is because you don’t like them, not because they would be unjustified or hard to claim

you just don’t like the concept for no reason whatsoever

You know that’s not true.

There very much is a reason, as I have explained time and time again.
