Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

It’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of time. Also Britain already has two sub trees.

It’s a Heja II (which is a Hungarian license produced Re 2000 with improvements) that has added dive brakes and a centerline bomb rack for either a 250kg or 500kg bomb

sure, but hopefully the F-18 doesnt come with ASEAN. it would really be a shame for another tree to have all 3 current US 4th gen fighters

One of the other good arguments for an ASEAN Sub TT is that it provides pretty good R2Y2 replacements, as seen in your proposal. Though I for one, would be fine with keeping the V1 in the TT (but that’s just because I don’t find paper things to be bad additions).

Honestly, with how much the US exports stuff, it’ll happen eventually so it’s a bit of a moot point

i mean no nation in game operates all 3 other than US so the only way would be bs subtrees

Only one as an individual line in the TT though, South Africa.

To be fair the F-18D that Malaysia operates is exclusively a two seat variant, so it would still be inferior in flight performance to the US variant.
Not sure about weapons since i’m not sure about the equipment of US Hornets, but it did receive a software update to add JHMCS, AIM-9X and JDAM capabilities. I’d assume that’s nothing US Hornets wouldn’t have though.

But even then a subtree never means everything will be added, not even a techtree means that considering in many cases (the US being the best example) there is just no space for everything. That is the reason we don’t have Blocks and Blocks of endless F-16 variants.
So there’s a chance it isn’t added. After all, since it is a two seat variant, they can’t just copy the model from the single seat variants everyone else would be getting.

I’d still like to see it personally, but I guess that’s just my personal opinion.

Fair enough, the only thing F-15 from US might not be allowed to do in wt is carry stuff like AGM 88 and 84 and maybe JSOW since afaik only export countries use those on F-15. However these were more than likely tested by US and since those weapons are compatible with an F-15, there is an argument for those to also be added to the US F-15E and EX.

I also think Korea won’t be an actual subtree but individual vehicles scattered in the tree.

Only one I actually care about are the K1 tanks, F-15K is cool and all but offers nothing over a regular strike eagle tbh

You: nation X should not get Y vehicles because they have another plane coming up soon.

Also you: US should get multiple export versions of planes Y and Z even though the US still has quite a bit to look forward to.

The MLU and C would be completely redundant, same with the D+

Well, you’d still have a solid chance for an F-15K, they don’t call it the SLAM Eagle for nothing.

Gaijin seem very 50/50 on it, but in theory as long as no major changes to the aircraft are needed it should be a reasonable thing to see.
I for one would love to see some tested features on aircraft to make them more unique, especially commonly exported aircraft coupd use that extra bit of variety and uniqueness.

Yeah, since the hard points are the same afaik, it’s either already compatible or a software update away

Imao the addition of Hungary or Romania as Italian subtree separately is pointless. I would rather have Spanish one in this case, but Romanian-Hungarian subtree can be very strong and interesting filling most of gaps Italy has + a lot of copypaste (athough most are not necessary) can use both Romanian and Hungarian skins.

I mean there is always the better alternative for sub-trees than just more lines:
(yes I’m aware the maker of this is currently talking)

It would help with the room issue as nations like the UK(& France) are missing a large number of domestic things(and that before lend-leas and whatnot), and their sub-trees are missing a lot/don’t even have room for what I want from them.

It would also be the only way I’d support Germany getting the Swiss(what is going to happen to them has already been said).

Like for WT, the best treatment for a nation in game(in my opinion) is:

  1. Independent tech-tree
  2. Not being in-game
  3. Sub-tree
  4. Have a home tree said
  5. Being in-game(ripped across nations)

I still don’t really agree with this. While I agree a regular F-16C or F-16A MLU as they are found in other trees would be boring, even they would add much needed CAS capabilities.

Though there is more interesting variants to pick, such as the Thai modernized F-16A (e)MLU or the Singaporean F-16D+ that offer those much needed CAS options alongside their own slightly unique take on the F-16.

No I mean it would be completely redundant for US, renzo seems to think I want them in the US tree

Though by the time the D+ and e MLU come Japan will probably have F-2 which is very capable, so it might even be redundant by then

Does this thing differ much from Sufa?

No? America and Russia have significantly more than enough.

Better radar and newer ECM stuff, made by lockheed

NGL all a dedicated subtree would do is take away from possible US additions

Since Korea was leaked apparently, all it would add that would be actually interesting is the K2 and K1, along with slam eagle if gaijin is difficult and doesn’t want to give US one AGM 84.

K1 would be a side grade to the M1’s and K2 would also be a side grade to the SEP v3
