New BR changes

Then you weren’t playing WT 9 months ago.
Cause I was killing Leopard 2A4s in my Type 74G throughout much of 2021.
I support it, cause Type 74G is still good. DM33, thermals, and fast.
Just gotta keep in mind the 4 rules of tanking.
Don’t be seen, don’t be shot at, don’t be hit, don’t be penned.
Last one obviously less possible in Type74 which means the other 3 need priority.

Okay so we’re back to 2021 levels of compression then, cool.

Not really. Besides, IRL war games 2A4s and Type 74Gs would face off if done.
You shouldn’t be immune to uptiers in WT.
You shouldn’t be able to lolpen people 1.0 BR higher than you unless you’re a TD [or 70s west tank design cause speed over armor].

No one said one should be immune to uptiers, but if I’m fighting vehicles that I wasn’t before it’s the opposite from decompression, plain and simple, not to mention how it drags the other Type 74s into these uptiers but Gaijin always refuses to consider lineups despite it being the core of the gameplay issues.
We’ve basically established this is the same matchmaking as we had years ago, despite the supposed decompression that has happened since.

Then don’t use the 9.0 Type 74s with Type 74G, Type 89, Type 16, and Type 93…

So we’re back to Gaijin promoting one death leaving then? I’d like to have a lineup.

I agree but today I have seen more 8.7 battles with a 7.7 lineup than I have ever seen before.

One death? You have multiple tanks, use them.

@Valcour
Cause 7.7 is far more popular than 6.7 and 8.7.
Give it time.

We got BR decompression?

Also, what do you mean “they aren’t finished analyzing”?

BR decompression has been an issue since years, they had so much time to “analyze” whatever there is to analyze. In my opinion, even a week of casual gameplay would be enough to tell what kind of decompression the game needs.

But no, they didn’t have time I guess, the same way they didn’t have the time to add top tier premiums (will never happen guys trust) and the same way they didn’t introduce 30G premium missiles at 9.7 at start.

Wow, they must be really busy huh, almost like the game is their actual job.

when will they change it to a fun game instead of a 50/50 win rate and not because of skill

Depends on how thorough they’re being.
They have to analyze all the vehicles in WT while at the same time do their normal balancing duties.

And no, you cannot determine where to put vehicles by playing a tiny fraction of them over a week.

Vehicle development teams aren’t part of the balancing staff.

Pretending to be staff is a rule violation, which I’m not about to violate.
You can tell who staff is if they have a symbol next to their name that you can hover over which tells you their position in the company.

It’s very clear that the BR decompression is valuable.
You don’t know how analytics works, sir.
Why are you so pro-compression?
Genuine question.
There’s no reason to call decompression bad.

I called it BR-shift because it is not decompression in any way, it could at best be called redistribution or whatever you want to call it. Many cold war vehicles were already suffering at the ~8.0 range because there were 3 million vehicles at 8.7 which make a performance leap comparable to 1.0->2.7.
If they moved literally everything up the problem would remain the same as it was before, but instead they moved a good number of vehicles up causing them to be packed more tightly…which is compression.

Well in a few months they are probably going to look at this again and things could get better, hopefully they’ll put more focus on aircraft too

Is 11.7 higher than 11.3 & 11.0?
If you accept that it is, then it’s decompression.
If you deny that it is, then that explains your position.

For it to be a “shift” in BRs, the top BR for ground would have to be 11.3.
For it to be compression the top BR for ground would have to be 11.0.

Damn dude, what a decompression, 11.7, holy shit WT is fixed.

The points you get stuck arguing about are so ridiculous. Someone is trying to make a point and you are just focusing on one word they used (wrong or not) instead of focusing on the idea.

This is clearly just a BR change that doesn’t change anything, it makes life better for 6.7 players, but even worse for the cold war era around 7.3 to 8.7, what’s so hard to understand?

The BR changes are pretty terrible, because they don’t solve the actual issue, that’s it.

The Leopard 2 premium in the german tech tree was a 10.0 at relase

When was the M48 Super changed? Yesterday it was 9.0 and now it’s 9.3.
News for additional br changes would be nice

You should’ve known this was the process of BR decompression.
If you’re going to propose ideas you need to know the consequences, or have a best guess, before supporting the ideas.
Otherwise you’re asking for something you might not want.
We’re getting decompression.
This is EXACTLY what I asked for, and I’ll continue asking for more because it’s not finished.
Because I expected it would take multiple changes over up to 2 years, or one big change within 2 years.

Leveling expectations is important to knowing exactly what you ask for.
And no, it does not make my life at 8.7 worse at all.
I face exactly the same tanks as I did before minus 7.7 heavies and some mediums.

@DargorDraconis
Exactly one of the points I was making.

And we can have a conversation on whether or not Type 74G, Leopard 1A5, etc should face older cold war vehicles as commonly as they do, but for now it’s best to appreciate the progress & think critically about what to propose from this point forward rather than yell things blind.

People really need to stop violating forum rules & stop insulting people just cause they know something the other doesn’t.

If uptiers are occurring, that means people are playing those BRs FAR more than people are playing 1.0 higher & 1BR lower.
Because that’s how matchmaking works.
The more a BR is played the more likely it is to be up-BR’d as there can only be a finite amount [4 or 5] vehicle players 1.0 above everyone else on either team.
