New BR changes are super dumb

You’re following the WoT logic by neglecting the roles that the vehicle played IRL.
Saying that a tank with one of the most armoured hull ever should be a glass cannon is like saying that light tanks should be slow …

Not even just “should” be. I will upgrade that to MUST be. There is no other possible decision that leads to balanced matches, if it’s getting well above 50% win rates etc. at its current BR.

Back to the topic.

Since every vehicle is going up, why are they even going up ?
I don’t understand this patch. Is it some sort of decompression ?

? Like 10% at most of the vehicles in those BR ranges are going up.

compression is the new decompression ^^

With the IS-3 going to 7.3, yes

Before, no it was compression

With the Russian super heavies also moving up in BR most certainly it is decompression

Gaijin is rolling these changes too slowly but eventually it should even out.

It’s compression.

Did everything at 8.3 go up?

No, so no, it’s not decompression. If the highest thing that moved up is not the highest thing in the game, then it means stuff is getting crammed together higher up somewhere.

So not decompression. Very simple.

If I give you an apple and then take away 1 apple, nothing changed.

The things at 8.3 were the things that used to be 7.3 / 7.7, the things that were at 8.3 are now at 8.7 and in this update some of those are moving to 9.0

Yeah I think they’re piecemealing it but the main complaint I had with this BR change was the Russian super heavies remaining at 7.0 / 7.3, they’re going up and getting a slightly better penetrating around which doesn’t change their firepower enough for me to complain about it. Overall the update along with future updates will hopefully achieve actual decompression.

  1. No, almost everything did NOT move at these BRs, only a small scattering of things, but also

  2. Let’s pretend that everything at 8.7 moved to 9.0 just as a thought experiment. Ok great! Did everything at 10.0 then move up? Because if not, you just created a clown car at 10.0 then, same exact point as before.

“Yeah I think they’re piecemealing it”

No it’s not “piecemealing it” it is literally making ZERO progress.

Again, if I give you 1 apple and then take away 1 apple, I didn’t “make baby steps toward your apple collection”, I didn’t “piecemeal” your apple collection, I didn’t make ANY progress actually, toward you having more apples. I did nothing at all. No baby step, no increment, nothing.

If the tanks that are currently 8.7 are moved to 9.0, then yes that is progress.

That would mean the tanks which used to be 8.3 are now 9.0, yes the 10.0 tanks are currently too low in BR. Hence “Overall the update along with future updates will hopefully achieve actual decompression”, the total BR needs to be raised to 12.3 to match air and provide one last 1.0 to balance top tier allowing 9.3 etc to move up without having to face 11.0 tanks.

If I’m a maid and I sweep the dirt up from your entryway into a dustpan, and then dump it on your bedroom floor, did I make progress in cleaning your house?

You’re saying this like 8.7 hasn’t been moved to 9.0 with this update as well

The problem is now 9.0 - 10.0, in time this should be adjusted as well

Yes, that is the bedroom where I dumped the dirt.

“in time this should be adjusted as well”

And if/when it ever is WITHOUT creating yet another brand new problem at that time somewhere else yet again, THEN they will have made some progress, unlike now.

“should Gaijin increase the top BR for ground to 12.3”

I think we can both agree to this or higher depending on what is necessary

Yeah, in order to not just create one new problem every time they fix one problem, it logically requires raising the maximum BR, correct. EVERY time they make any progress, that needs to happen, not one time.

If it happens one time out of three, then they decompressed one time, and did not decompress twice.

Yeah, so they compressed top tier in order to decompress BR 4 that never needed decompression because they’re so insanely incompetent and so entirely clueless what they are doing.

And now they are moving even more vehicles into BR 9 range even further compressing the most compressed BRs in the game and the only things going up are the Freccia and Ariete, a change truly beyond human comprehension because it is difficult to find a more abused and neglected set of vehicles, bar Japan’s entire tree.

The only logical explanation for any of this is greed, as this somehow, or they believe this will result in more profit somehow.

IS-6 at 7.7 sounds a bit miserable though.

IS-6 at 7.3 is also miserable.

For it’s opponent’s or the vehicle itself?

I feel like the realm of 7.0-7.7 is a weird one, it’s where all the really crazy WW2 vehicles and prototypes developed near the end of WW2 go to die.
