If this is actually the case then Gaijin has failed their playerbase. This game is not an FPS where random tweaking of stats week to week is something that should be occuring. Battle rating should be manually curated to offer historical combat alongside relatively functional balance and keeping vehicles in lineups to offer and encourage more dynamic play during a battle.
If Gaijin has abandoned their players to run the game on auto pilot then they shouldn’t be charging a monthly subscription for premium.
Just to get rid of my feelings about this …
I think changes should be done a bit more cautious. This one seems to be a little bit too much troublemaking.
I will get used to it and I’m willing to adapt. But it is again a hard way. And oh boy wait for those guys who do not read and wake up on patch day to see their tanks changed in BR …
We had a large event, then a major update with new vehicles, followed by another large event and now we get BR changes based on that shortly after, it’s completely non-sensical, there is no representative information to be found at all.
Just as non-sensical as thinking a Tiger should be a 6.0 facing an IS-3 or how that is an improvement somehow.
The spam of player suggestion threads is immense on here currently, it’s no wonder the forum mods are having trouble with the workload lol. Who’d think that everyone would want to be putting forth anything in a panic to fix thier problems.
RCV is at least quite decent, but i cant understand why it has 8.7 (and in future will have 9.0). Same BR as Italian VBC, but without stab, thermals, LWS and armor that protects from simple MGs
9.0 is insane for what it is though, getting 90mm of pen with nothing else going on except decent mobility.
An R3 is a superior vehicle aside from having 60mm of pen.
I don’t really know for sure…but i imagine someone will look at the proposed changes and make a quick check. Not only that, those changes are published in forum for commenting and sometimes they are reverted, modified or additional ones are added.
Problem is “common sense” is not the same for everyone…it is always “biased”.
THIS^^ is a good example…everytime some tank climbs in BR it will be faced by new and better enemies…BUT some other tanks below will no longer see Tiger as an opponent. And there were several complaints about Tiger in forum…
IMHO IS3 is not really a big factor…i rarely see these…and i seriously doubt that Tiger is the worst tank when uptiered…BY FAR. It will be at a disadvantage…as ANY uptiered vehicle…but unlike many, it has a gun that can kill many opponents, even +1BR ones. Not sure about IS3…like i said, i rarely see one.
Tigers had higher BRs in the past…i dont recall them being too weak back then…they are very affected by player skill…can be deadly…or easy targets, depending on what players do with them…and game BR.
I dont think it is random…but a “cold” application of game results…the opposite of random.
Even if manual is possible…at the very least would require lots of work with the number of vehicles presently in game, AND i am pretty sure simply by looking at topics like this one that there is no way that any manual adjustment would be well accepted by all…ANY adjustment. Like i said above…i recall devs saying that stats based changes reduce potential bias and perception errors.
Funny thing…we all have “personal” views (and some have certainties) on vehicles that we never used (most of us at least)…on matchups and scenarios where they were never tested.
AGAIN…i am NOT saying BR system is perfect (it isn’t) or that all changes are correct. A simple “proof” is that several changes get reverted. Additionally, I personally would like to see a 0.7 spread test.
But i can understand a system where STATS are used to find overperforming (or underperforming) vehicles…and then pass these proposals trough forum for feedback.
All of that makes the assumption that Gaijin/whoever they employ to do the “statistics” for them has a clue what they are doing. Considering how regularly they mess up easy things like basic physics, I’m not confident they are even remotely close to doing robust analysis. At the end of the day the only statistic they care about is profit.
Because they are decompressing the 5.7 and below area. They never said WHAT they were doing, we just all guessed.
So they moved 7.0+ upwards, then they moved 5.0+ (some) upwards to make the balance more accurate.
So yes, now 8.0+ is more compressed, 7.0+ is almost as before minus a few vehicles (softening it for them) and sub-5.7 is more spread out with certain tanks moving up one bit but others not, so decompressing some of sub-5.7.
I can only presume they are doing it bit by bit as with 10 nations doing it all at once would be just as nuts. Do I think it is working? probably not but I can see what has been done.
And since Churchill VII still faces the Tiger 1 H in a full up-tier then the game still needs more lower decompression as the VII, according to everyone else’s opinions on Tiger IIs and Tiger Is, should never ever face Panthers and Tigers, EVER (VII cannot do much other than fall on them from a great height).
Of course I do not think the game should be balanced around the Churchiills, but then others want the game balanced around x,y,z tank and that appears acceptable,
Having seen discounts on chinese packs a week and a half ago, I bought chinese T69 II-G and T62 for better setup. And now in less than 2 weeks you show these BR changes which include T69 II-G from 8.7 to 9.0.
I bought that tank only because of his BR and posibility to use with premium T62.
Im 100% sure you knew about these BR changes before creating news about chinese packs discounts.
Isnt it scam of players? Could you accounce BR changes before chinese packs discounts?
Every BR change comletely invalidates all previous data for all vehicles in the game. So doing it in steps and with balance changes in between makes 0 sense
Increasing everything strating at point x by a flat amount would be far more effective as it would essentially just decompress everything right below point X and make room for proper balance.
As it is done now is just pointless. For years they have been doing it this way and it has never helped. Just as everyone with two braincells predicted.
Yeah but that’s also one of my concerns. Tigers were strong at their BR yes, but it’s sort of justified by their historical importance.
When facing a Tiger in a lower BR tank, I’m always to happy to take it down as it feels like i’m in Fury.
Uptiered and middletiered tigers will now just become food for other tanks as they’re really easy to deal with when you have at least two arms and a brain (agreed that their frontal armour is a volumetric mess)
Not saying that you’re wrong but that’s quite weird as I face them very ofen any time I bring out a 7. something tank. There’s also a looooot of IS-6 out there …
