They aren’t dedicating many resources to naval. That’s clear. If they think making it even worse is going to draw more players, I don’t hold out a lot of hope for naval in general. It’s not like a lot of us were playing to begin with.

Came here to start a thread about exactly this. I played the NEW arcade mode today and it is the single worst war thunder experience I’ve ever had.

I cannot see how these changes are good for the game mode in terms of gaining new players or retaining old. For me, a long time fan of the mode, its now virtually unplayable.

As others have said, the new aiming system is only useful against bots and noobs as anyone changing course is immune to incoming fire. This resulted in one match where all players sailed around unable to hit eachother until the timer ran out. I sampled realistic to see if this could be my new jam but unfortunately this was also quite sinfully boring.

Please please please, return naval arcade to its previous model as honestly, I’m unlikely to play it in it’s current state as well as the other people i regularly game with. It is now a dead mode for me.

So the only difference between Arcade battles and Realistic battles should be the rewards? At this point unite in a single game mode.

Has anyone been experiencing this weird thing? Every time I select an enemy my guns don’t elevate and I shoot directly in front of me. Only When they are in open water with nothing obstructing them will my guns elevate it’s so frustrating at the moment. Also, my guns are now permanently locked to the target and will not move unless you unselect the target. Is this a bug or working as intended, I know it wasn’t like this a couple weeks ago.

@NueHoujuu Yes, I just got this problem too. I thought I’m the only one. It’s frustrating, yesterday was fine.

Old player here (basically from the beta) and I can say that, while realistic mode remained mostly the same, the mix of the new aiming system and the self destruction of the ship after a certain amount of damage to a single part of the hull just promoted a hyper-passive gameplay all around.

Now everybody (especially the uptiered ships) just camp their own spawns, flee to the edge of the map or hug islands.

Those who dare to play the objective are immediately focused and angling your ship doesn’t help as everybody learned to only shoot at the bow of the ship (no matter the class) to trigger the hullbreak system.

Now everybody just endlessly wait in fear untill the timer runs out and the team who killed more bots wins.

That’s no game mode, it’s a gatcha where you have to wait 25min to know the result…

Emm, it works only on small boats you know? And you can kill target way faster if you spread you fire all over the enemy target destroying all compartments.
