Nerf AIM-120A/B

My average altitude in both RB and SB is 20-30k ft. Im rarely if ever sat at a MP height in msot aircraft I play, and those that I am, its more because im explotiing ground clutter/terrain masking as much as I am Multipathing. Even when below 60m though, I do not just ignore incoming SARH/ARH threats because im down low, I would always notch and chaff if I wasnt confident the missile was going to be defeated kinetmatically.

Go ahead and elaborate how something like F-104S.ASA will be played without MP currently, or how something like F-16A (13.0) plays into 14.0 without MP currently?

you don’t, you arent even a 13.0

So you don’t use every tool at your disposal and perform worse because of it.

You ok buddy?

I get it though, I’m speaking to somebody who doesn’t actually know what jets are even in the game, how would you know about game mechanics or how to play well?

You don’t want to be aggressive, I consider getting within 10-15km of someone that has their nose anywhere near me a failure of positioning or awareness in these BVR matches. I don’t understand why you would want to sit in MP and try to force dogfights when you can kill people from 20km away while being for the most part safe, or able to easily go on the defensive.

I get some planes suck for BVR, idk what to say other than they are powercrept to hell and just not good for ARB currently and play something else.

You absolutely do if you want to actually win games and perform well in many aircraft? Early game aggression is literally one of the sole thing driving win rates. This is well known by any decent pilot.

Because you are a LARPER and not a player in this case. Not because it’s actually bad to do so.

Idk what to tell you either except that MP isn’t going anywhere.

No?

Take the Tornado F3. If im sat at 50m and the target is sat at 50m then my primary weapon system, the Skyflash SuperTEMP or AMRAAM is totally and completely useless, and there is no chance I can out dogfight a Mig-23ML let alone a Mig-29, F-16, etc.

But if im at 10k ft (3000m). I can either mitigate multipathing or force my enemy to come out of multipathing to fight me. At which point I hold the advantage.

I found much the same to be case in the Typhoon. Hugging the deck is far greater nerf for an aircraft built for being up high. When I finally broke my mud mover instinct of hugging the deck and starting fly up high, my performance in the Typhoon improved greatly and by now relying on the crutch that is MP, I far more consistantly defeat incoming threats.

Too many times, have I seen someone sat in MP and just eaten my Skyflash or AMRAAM simply because I fired from above. Quite funny actually.

We aren’t in props though, I agree otherwise. You can be aggressive at top tier from 15-20km away, you don’t need to get into knife fights for no reason unless you are in a plane thats a victim of compression/powercreep.

  1. If you are at 15-20km you are larping, not actually playing competitively. It is extremely easy to notch missiles at this range. The only thing you can do is apply pressure while you AGGRESSIVELY PUSH TOWARDS THE GUY YOU’RE PRESSURING as he defends. Guess what that means? Closing into WVR combat…

  2. 16v16, again, as I have already said, is too chaotic to have this mentality that you are going to notch every missile ever fired at you when there are MULTIPLE missiles being fired at you. I’m fully aware how you could twist this to be seen as a contradiction to point #1. It isn’t. The difference is you are only dangerous while doing then when somebody else is also doing it or when you are, like I said, applying pressure so you can WVR kill them. If the enemy team ALSO has multiple targets firing on you, you just end up dying unless the missiles are either both coming from the same direction or if they are timed to arrive at different intervals so you can notch both consecutively…

ah the belgian

you have 6 aim 9M so you’re a 3rd party beast, a gun for turnfights and a mighty good airframe to enable turnfighting.

not like there isn’t free food at your BR either

clearly if you know better you shouldn’t be crying about this

AND HOW do you suppose one would GET INTO POSITION to USE SAID MISSILES? They WON’T be doing this by NOTCHING! (You will catch the first AIM-9M fired at you.)

Nobody is crying.

The planes you listed as “food” besides the sea harrier are better jets than you in the meta btw.

I am looking forward to having the Sea Harrier FA2 at 12.0 because AMRAAM are defeated by just flying low to the ground

Surely this will be an intelligent topic full of proper discussion, that doesn’t involve any sort of bias…

No ARH missiles (excluding the Phoenix) should be buffed or nerfed until Gaijin properly decompresses the BRs.

don’t fly into the middle of the map, learn how to flank and third party. Its not that hard, in fact its extremely easy to do so

you are.

a phantom is not better than a F16 lmfao

the SU33 is more agile but generally not a very good plane just like all the other flanker style airframes

Looking forward to the FA2 at 12.0 when Mpathing becomes unrealistic because you can just mow the grass to win like this is starfox or some lameass arcade flying game

Ain’t that convenient that Gaijin decided to add a better missile despite compression, and we got no criticism from your end regardless?

Neat! And when somebody fires an ARH at you and decides to push you? Or when games end before you even see combat because games end in about 2 minutes after first contact in current meta?

About? MP isn’t being removed. You are the one crying for its removal. Get a clue.

You are clueless as to what the meta actually is. You didn’t even know this f* F-16 existed 15 minutes ago. I’m done talking to you lmao

True. I’ve been able to notch stuff that was fired 6km away from me in a phantom. You can also abuse multipathing to easily force WVR stuff.

However, you can still cause pressure on other players by forcing them to dodge, which gives an advantage to your team. It’s what the EFT and F-15s do the best, and it’s why the F-14s are where they are.

This is a 1v1 situation, not what you find most times in ARB. The guy you are firing on is also possibly notching missiles fired from differnent aspects and can’t manage both if he isn’t playing at “larping” distances. Or hes on the ground in MP trying to use that to stop you from hitting him when you launched from orbit, while also being in combat with everyone else that decided to play like that.

If you are playing at a safe distance its not a problem, it sucks that it might force you to reset the fight completely, but if your team hasn’t collapsed you can reset without being ran down.

Im still not anywhere near a pro air player, but I don’t see how climbing, trying to win the fight at altitude, and if you do, doesn’t put you in a prime position for the match, vs lawnmowing and knife fighting other players on the deck, you will be food if your team loses the fight at altitude to the other teams plays up there unless you manage to get directly below them and spike them, which is going to require you to come out of MP to do so and if you are playing inside these furballs that’s going to get you killed by other players near you on the deck.
