there was no alternative, besides r77 and derby every other fox 3 would be significantly too capable for an introductory fox 3 updated, and because america did it first gaijin gave them a range edge, but the aim120 really isnt particularly good it bogstandard.
im personally happy they choose not to introduce aim120c-5 level of missiles as the first fox 3s
The choices were “nerf” the Aim-120C5 level missiles down to Aim-120A level or leave them with SARH to fight Aim-120As until such time Aim-120C5s could be added.
You can pick which option was most fair.
The question becomes, what do we do with missiles like PL-12 and their carriers when Aim-120C5s can be added.
(for the record, Aim-120A/Bs are just as nerfed as everyone else at the moment with the exception of the MICAs who got a powerful upgrade to their seeker and the R-77-1 which is a strong missile on an excellent missile truck)
There is an option: export variants. SD10 was nerfed in range IRL and can be just applied to all PL12 carriers currently existing, and then PL12 comes as a better variant. We can eventually get PL12A although that said, we’ve only seen it since november. Similarly later on we can have a mono pulse PL15E and then a dual pulse PL15.
Do you have some easy “idiot guide” that you would recomend for a guy who is struggling to learn the ropes of top tier planes? To stop wasting my missiles?
There isn’t any. Also depends on what plane u are flying, a few advice.
Try not to fly high unless u are in a kinetically advantageous plane. Or for example ur IRIAF F14 with FK90. In which case try to get as fast as possible within the space and time allowed and try to aim for those with at least 600m/s approach rate. Don’t launch anything towards negative approach rate targets unless it is within sort of 5Km or so. Also note that the higher u shoot ARH the less likely it will be subject to multi path cause the larger the angle the lesser the chance.
Just save them, try to supress the enemy aircraft who are very high at start but then leave a few at least so that u can farm from high up.
This guy makes pretty good videos on how ARHs work, although it is more focused on defeating them usually.
However, using that logic and working backwards, understanding how to defeat them will show you how to see targets that are in poor positions to react to your launches.
No, now MICA its the most OP missile. The missile and plane they should nerf isnt USSR or USA now.
Its need to be France now. Or move Rafale up to 15.0 BR
Actual skill issue
defending all ARH missiles in this game is stupidly easy and id actually argue they all need to be buffed
LIterally just notch and chaff It works 100% of the time if you do it correctly
It works so well that you can be up in space and notching missiles because gaijin in their infinite wisdom is not properly modelling radars (It should actually be harder to notch them at altitude not easier)
This is what i personally do because its easier to defend against at altitude and it gives me a better offensive position to get missiles to hit
as an russian main at top tier the only place where the amraam has any advantage over other ARH missiles is at BVR other than that its the same as any other when it comes to defending from it
