Nerf AIM-120A/B

i have 2 thousand hours in the game, own f16c, f15c, su27sm, su30sm, su34. if you dont think thats enough to have an opinion i think you should get a grip, not to mention you’re just objectively wrong, like there is no “i play tournaments” thats simply not how it works.

migan makes amazing content, definetly the most informative youtuber rn.

Really?

You mean Japan that has F-15Js that can use 120C-5s? And in fact are one of the few non-US countries which actually gets all the way up to 120Ds?

You mean China(Taiwan), whose F-16s only used 120C-5 and up?

You mean France, who just got Belgium and the Netherlands, whose F-16s used 120C-5s?

I mean really you must have fallen out of the stupid tree today.

🤣 This is the first I’m seeing of this LMAO. But you’ll have to wait until my replacement monitor gets in before you get dragged up and down the street, RB console pleb.

I guess we will see in another update if Gaijin will give the minor nations the AIM 120Cs or if they will completely skip over them, leaving China and Japan with 13.7 still, while America gets the 120Cs. That’s typically what happens anyways. America gets new stuff, and then everyone has to wait.

Also, I admitted that I messed up and forgot about Benelux in the French tree. Then again, who didn’t forget about the most pointless subtree? Same with Taiwan in the Chinese tree. I realised that the 120Cs came with the F-16Vs.

Ain’t nobody going to talk about this?
I was back there in 2024 (in fact most of us were there), and the playerbase that complained the most around the AIM-120 were mostly soviet-russian.
Right now, it is gimped and Gaijin admits it implicitly by not quoting any source to the changes when they gimped it back on July 24’.
So i don’t see how AIM-120 players were begging for nerfs when they got the same treatment as most of other nations with their respective missiles, the exception being the the aforementioned Soviets and French.

there was no alternative, besides r77 and derby every other fox 3 would be significantly too capable for an introductory fox 3 updated, and because america did it first gaijin gave them a range edge, but the aim120 really isnt particularly good it bogstandard.

im personally happy they choose not to introduce aim120c-5 level of missiles as the first fox 3s

Why even bother playing top tier? it is no skill and just horrible and will be forever

No?

The choices were “nerf” the Aim-120C5 level missiles down to Aim-120A level or leave them with SARH to fight Aim-120As until such time Aim-120C5s could be added.

You can pick which option was most fair.

The question becomes, what do we do with missiles like PL-12 and their carriers when Aim-120C5s can be added.

(for the record, Aim-120A/Bs are just as nerfed as everyone else at the moment with the exception of the MICAs who got a powerful upgrade to their seeker and the R-77-1 which is a strong missile on an excellent missile truck)

There is an option: export variants. SD10 was nerfed in range IRL and can be just applied to all PL12 carriers currently existing, and then PL12 comes as a better variant. We can eventually get PL12A although that said, we’ve only seen it since november. Similarly later on we can have a mono pulse PL15E and then a dual pulse PL15.

You all seem to know a lot about them ARHs.

Do you have some easy “idiot guide” that you would recomend for a guy who is struggling to learn the ropes of top tier planes? To stop wasting my missiles?

There isn’t any. Also depends on what plane u are flying, a few advice.
Try not to fly high unless u are in a kinetically advantageous plane. Or for example ur IRIAF F14 with FK90. In which case try to get as fast as possible within the space and time allowed and try to aim for those with at least 600m/s approach rate. Don’t launch anything towards negative approach rate targets unless it is within sort of 5Km or so. Also note that the higher u shoot ARH the less likely it will be subject to multi path cause the larger the angle the lesser the chance.

Just save them, try to supress the enemy aircraft who are very high at start but then leave a few at least so that u can farm from high up.

This guy makes pretty good videos on how ARHs work, although it is more focused on defeating them usually.

However, using that logic and working backwards, understanding how to defeat them will show you how to see targets that are in poor positions to react to your launches.

No, now MICA its the most OP missile. The missile and plane they should nerf isnt USSR or USA now.
Its need to be France now. Or move Rafale up to 15.0 BR

Finally who someone who gets it, theres nothing remarkable about aim120 and mica is mad overpowered constantly killing people in notches

This is a similar case for pl12 too.

No… nothing needs to be nerfed.

if you notch successfully, it doesn’t kill you.
