Aircraft with positive TWR can maintain their speed well when turning and if you convert altitude into speed as you turn, you can also mitigate the energy loss. Also, if the missile is much further away, then a sharp, immediate turn into the notch isnt necessary, and you can pull more gently

Will still lose loads, cause AoA to drag is by the factors especially for Delta wings. Also nothing really does have positive TWR with fuel and missiles.
i just find when I do that I end up being continuously suppressed a lot of times, like Su30SM or F18 doesn’t care if they threw a couple more missiles just to get the kill. I tend to have at that point because I am in notch a few seconds too long that more missiles are coming my way.
Never really noticed it or had issues in the Typhoon, even with max fuel and a belly full of bombs and missiles
Perhaps. But then you should be in a fairly advantageous position to just notch them as well, let them waste missiles and when they are done, turn and fight. Id also be looking for some terrain I could exploit too

For the fun of it, I tried to replicate your launch conditions as best I could from memory (post is hidden so I dont think I matched it exactly) But you can see that not even AMRAAM is infalable if fired poorly

No. Chaff is how you make up for imperfect notches, or close range launches where you need to defeat a missile without giving up angles.
Pretending like you turn into an airbrake just by defending is cope.
And nothing is stopping you from firing a missile in return from gimbal limits to force them defensive as well.
Issue is with stuff on the floor, if they didn’t get fired upon they are well within 16km and even 10 by the time you start notching. Missile gives u maybe 2-3 seconds to notch and chaff.

Dare I say this, but then you’ve screwed up. You’ve allowed them to maintain both an advantageous position against you and attack you freely and now you need to try and force the fight into a WVR battle where you may be able to re-gain the advantage, or at least set things back to status quo.
But if we stick to the thread at hand, you could be in that situation with AMRAAM vs something with R-77 at which point ,should the thread be “nerf R-77”?
Uh… AMRAAM is the weakest off-boresight out of the ARH. MICA and R-77-1 are by far the strongest for firing off-boresight.

It’s not the ones up big, but the 1 or 2 raffle or Ed that charged through with MP and they are now so close that notching is useless. Also when it comes to off bore sight, it’s not about the missile but the plane or radar. I can’t do it so far in J11A B or J10. Either it’s too slow to get up there or it’s the radar.
Then the Su-30SM and Rafale still hold a massive advantage in that department compared to most “NATO” jets. In its current state, even the Typhoon struggles with maintaining locks as it should.

Yes, partly at least, in 1966, though by “NATO” I’d assume you meant nations more like US, UK, Israel, Japan, etc. Mostly AMRAAM users
I.E, F-16s, Gripens, F-15s, Typhoons, etc etc Granted that could and should include the Rafale but the Rafale doesnt use AMRAAM like the others

Ok straight up, anyone that says the AMRAAM is op in 2025 let alone saying the r77 is bad as of current are exposing that they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about let alone understand game mechanics or comp.
Also in 2 or 3 particular threads there’s a certain subset of players on this forum that try to massively downplay the su30sm and I find it absolutely hilarious

Where is the thread owner because the issue is not AMRAAM. it’s how the ARH get a pseudo 9M seeker-like guidance and reacquisition on ALL radar missile basically made notching a continuous effort instead of a one-off event that is done as long as the missile lock is defeated. nerf that and the game would be more bearable.
