Navy Arcade Sucks Now

You…you don’t realize there’s zoom between 0% and 100%, do you….

Did you know you will be less accurate, if you don’t see your target? Zoom out, so you can see it. It’s not hard.

Sorry, scroll is on vertical adjustments. No place for that tweaking, time is money.
And remember this is stationary target example in RB in real fight AB it’s way worse.

I don’t need that, i feel the green “V” and the dummy in the corner. But that’s not entertaining, cause i don’t see how my target blow up from my shots, with new system it is.

All I can say is that if I knew they’d do this, I wouldn’t spend my last 3 months slowly grinding to BBs. It’s impossible to hit anyone changing their speed or while I’m changing speed now. The game clearly is inept at calculating the landing zone unless both the target and launcher speed is constant. Obviously this includes maneuvering as well.

I get their intention and it could work if it did but it doesn’t work so now any long range engagement against anyone having a clue is pointless. Without any reference on an open sea, I can’t gauge if the target is speeding up or slowing down and lead accordingly.

New poll I just made with multiple options:

Noting that aiming seems again different, by means that when you point and click on an enemy ship, your gunners just shoot somewhere into the water nearby your ship. Is this a new feature or a bug? Looks very strange you are a bunch of ships and everyone just shooting at the water nearby because the Gaijin-bot decides so. While the ‘official’ bots snipe you from 20km.

If you lock any target that you don’t have clear line of sight with (that is, no islands or other obstructions, even if you can see the ship’s superstructure clearly) the arcade aiming just nopes out and cannot range the target, and simply shoots into the water. In my testing, if you lock a target when you have clear line of sight, the ranging will continue to work for that particular target as long as you do not deselect it. If you accidentally deselect it, the aiming will once again just lose any concept of range and will fire into the surf. You can force it to shoot further out by just aiming at the sky, but you cannot be accurate that way.

Boy that is for sure. My last match I thought I would try to do the “whaleman” task with the PT-15 staying at maximum range and just lobbing torpedoes, but bot Emden said no and sniped me from about 15 km. It used to be if you were in a PT boat you wouldn’t be spotted by a bot or a player at long range (8-10 km), but that doesn’t seem to be the case any more.

In any event, after taking a break I tried it out again but after three matches I think I am now done with this mode. It is completely broken, and I won’t be playing it again unless they revert these changes and/or give players back the ability to actually aim their weapons.

Essentially samsies. I guess I’ll check in every once in awhile. Do my three matches so I can talk about what’s going on but… the game sucks right now. It’s all big boats focused. No skill. No nuance. Nothing of interest.

It sucks.

If there is no skill and easymode why you are not in first places? It not faceroll at all, you need to play smart to live and score. It easier in aiming yes, but harder to live long, and it leads to more active gameplay, just like i said in my proposal year ago. And don’t forget that new aiming boosted those ships and boats which underperform previously like slow reloaders and those who had big guns but don’t have rangefinder mechanic for some reasons.

You really just don’t get it, do you. We want aiming to be harder, and living longer to be easier. The point is to play the ships and use skill to aim and operate the ship. Not to just spray around at things without any skill or learning, blow up, and repeat.

The issue with the aiming isn’t that it is “broken” or such. It is that it is far far far too easy and dumbed down the primary thing you do in naval. It turned it into an on-rails-shooter. This has been widely disliked by the vast majority of the community as polls, hearts, and responses have shown.

No one cares that you suggested or or like it. No one cares about your screenshots of your scores. This is about gameplay, skill, learning, and what makes things fun.

There same thigs you have to learn where are to shoot and who are to shoot first, just aiming slightly different and more comfort, especially when you shoot in motion on target in motion.

And when another “coastal” players tell me that there was “skill” in aiming i laugh. Farming bots and newbies at knife distances where aiming barely different, those who can’t do anything against you, like it was pre patch that’s ain’t no “skill”. You just been in safe zone from destroyers aren’t you, now you are easy prey for them if you play dumb as before. You had comfort in safety now it’s gone, deal with it.

If shooting is primary thing then it something wrong with mode, in air and ground battles positioning and maneuvers and tactics are big thing. I want naval battles be more strategic and tactical and players go up to my level. You want it be more sitting in crosshair fighting controls and aiming green circle/“v” and leave the mode cause there is some professional “coastal” aimer farm them.

And no one care about you disliking it. For me it’s more fun when you see the target clearly all the time, and can maneuver and shoot.

Ok, let’s take a look at your yesterday’s battles, since you say how healthy the current Naval Arcade is when compared to the old one. You have played 6 battles yesterday:

Battle1: 22 bots
Battle2: 14 bots
Battle3: 4 bots
Battle4: 16 bots
Battle5: 24 bots
Battle6: 16 bots

You haven’t played a single battle where only players participated. Every battle you played had bots, but you still keep denying facts and think that now you are so skilled. Just because most good players stopped playing Naval Arcade.

I only played a few battles after Naval Arcade aiming change and every battle I played had bots in it as well. Even when I played during prime time, which is pretty ridiculous. The last time I saw Naval Arcade in such a sad state was before the Bluewater/Coastal split.

No one has in NAB for a couple of years now - not you, not me, not him.

It’s a specious comment that has nothing to do with the aiming system.

Do you realize that was 6.7 and what time it was played? Before patch in that time i got 2vs2.

All “costal” mains forgot that there is a game above 3.0

There is NO AIMING. I just played 3 more matches. Aiming at a G5 capping a point. Loaded HEVT to stop him. Range finder confirmed guns knew he was at 5km. IT SHOT 3KM SHORT! There is NO AIMING. You can’t aim if you don’t know where your guns are. You can’t aim ON the MOVE if you have no idea or awareness of WHERE the actual gun sights are pointed. You can’t anticipate the enemy and direct rounds to where they will be If the guns are doing their own thing. If you have NO UNDERSTANDING of what your sights even MEAN.

This is absolutely absurd.

You keep talking like there’s any skill involved. Where is the skill in this!? Dude botted in a single Murmansk. One and Done. Top of the team. Was out at half the match. Get OUTTA here with that “skill” argument. There’s no skill here. You’re out there mostly popping people taking non-meta vehicles. People are grabbing premiums, and popping the soft skinned ships and boats people need to progress through the tree. How is that fun or competitive play?

The game is absurdly frustrating. There’s nothing to get good at. The game won’t LET you get good. You’re not ALLOWED to get good because you’re not allowed to aim. It’s all dumb af.

LoL. it do be funny you trying to hit me about not being a skillful player when the argument is that the butchered aim system doesn’t allow for skilled play. AND you know I have an excellent Naval record. AND I’m still in the top half, despite complaints on the mangled aim. Let’s not be petty. I’m not afraid to share screen shot where I’m not top 3.

Now you have to make a sacrifice to The Mighty Snail just to get a permission to get the guns on target. smh
