Naval mode is finally dead

Played Alaska. On average 2500 mission score. Now barely can get 1000.
And it is no just me. Other people on scoreboard and enemy team don’t do better.

Also it seems it affects the top tiers the most.

still playing naval, but it has gotten boring on large open sea maps. I have nearly fallen sleep in some games open sea maps, because it is fire, wait 20, fire, wait 20,. maybe adjust heading a few degrees, fire, wait 20 (20 could also be 30, 40 or even 50).

I wish they would spread out spawns, annoying to basically spawn either on top of someone or wedged in between two players so you just have to travel in a straight line and get hit by all the shots that miss the other two guys… Of that always fun spawning on a collision course with an island

Not really sure what it is in the end but what i do know is that there is something different about it. Previously like 20k Target Dmg+ would usually result in about 4-5k score whereas now its just 2k-3k.

Did they bug out Anti Air again? Just got shot down by some random shells flying at me when im at 6000 altitude about 10km away.

Sure it wasn’t VTF?

People really disrespect VTFs in naval until they get sniped at 8km by 'em lol

It was a HE-TF from the Soyuzs 100mm Anti Air. Strangely enough it hit me despite slightly maneuvering left and right the entire time…

When I first started, I played USSR because I thought it was cute. The poor underdog with their trash toys. But then I realized that playing Russia was actually easy mode. If you really want to git gud, you gotta play any other nation. If that sounds hard, start with Germany (another easy country, but requires more thinking) then move on to the US, maybe Britain… and once you have REAL skill, graduate to Japan. That’s when you know you’ve mastered the game. But you gotta take those Russian floaties off and learn how to really play the game.

American cruisers after Omahas: exists

Russia has hard hitting guns that hit well above their weight. Most of their ship layouts either suck (krazny krym is boilers and ammo) or have no armor until Pr68s. Then you have to grind russian dreadnoughts with poor penetration and not great turret layouts until a conti di cavour class and the Kronshtadt. Where one is made of glass (Kronshtadt) and the other is actually mostly find.

It ain’t until Soyuz you actually get a local battleship that isn’t arse. Honestly, if it got an armor nerf, it’d be following similar trends with the Stalingrad and Kronshtadts; great guns but easily killed.

Not sure if its been suggested before, but i would put an exclusion zone around the coastal spawns and their nearest cap. Any coastal vessels in this zone are immune to gunfire from any Bluewater ships. This will stop Coastals from being shelled to death by Bluewater ships as soon as the game starts. It would also mean that Bluewater ships making a b-line to dominate the coastal area would be a little less appealing. Having just a single cap in the coastal zone would mean that bluewater vessels can still win the game by capping the other 2 zones without having to J out to get in a coastal. This may also encourage players to have a Coastal boat in their lineup
Not sure how to manage the ships in the Coastal tree with a Bluewater spawn. Most would be ok with the exception of the SKR 1 and SKR 7.
Pr206 and AK225 are also a menace.

As a completely ‘out there’ suggestion. What about coastal vessels being able to capture and use shore defenses. These could also give coastals a method of keeping bluewater ships at bay and also give the bluewater ships something else to shoot at

Gaijin did add a couple of gun emplacements on Franz Land for a short period. They were AI, bad accuracy, poor damage, but at the very least they added some variety and resulted in some of my shios having very rare Ground kills.
I did see a little negative feedback but most players seemed to like the idea, but it went nowhere and they disappeared again.

But I dont think player controlled guns would be so welcomed. I could see it becoming a ‘free life’ unless loss of the gun also meant loss of the ship/boat. Too effective and it would dominate, too weak and it gets ignored.

Maybe Gaijin will return to the idea one day and retest the feasibility, just like they did with Subs…oh wait…

maybe its a wrong impression but I feel like the mission points ad SL-earnings are drastically reduced by the last update, sinking a number of ships/planes results in not more as 1000 mission points…
