You still can’t seem to understand that if you make a claim about vehicle performance, people ARE going to investigate. People ARE entitled to the ability to circumstantiate your claims.
If you say Russian vehicles at 10.0 are overpowered and that Russian bias exists, and we check your stats - and see that the highest BR you’ve ever played is 4.7, and have never played Russian vehicles, or have played them but did no better in them than in vehicles of other nations, you WILL be called out.
People are not going to blindly listen to what someone has to say.
If you’re talking about how to play top tier jets and their strengths and weaknesses - yet you only have a 1 K/D, your expertise will be brought into question because you either don’t practice what you preach or your advice is incorrect in some way.
Everything is public, and stats are extremely important when it comes to calling out bullshit - and I AM NOT SURPRISED that you are heavily offended by people checking other people’s accounts. At all.
How is it, that a far higher stakes situation such as academic peer review where the results of the claim can lead to bullshit results and at best, wasted funding and at worst, threat to human lives can be performed just fine with the names removed and cut off from the draft, but a bunch of dudes on a random forum must take 100+ posts to attack each other personal qualities?
Imagine if academics behaved like the lot of you. We’d be back to the 19th century.
Again, you are attacking people based on who they are rather than the body of their argument.
Focus on the bloody thread, not the people.
Pretend you don’t see others’ names.
If doing so would change your opinion of what they post, you have biases that impact your ability to engage in mature, civil dialogue.
I don’t even have a crippled, infirm horse in this race. I came back to this stupid game because I got a WW2 aviation itch and don’t care about modern jets, yet I found the behaviour presented over and over and over again on this forum utterly disgusting and a disgrace to enthusiasts.
How is it that I don’t see this behaviour on KSP’s forums? How is it that I don’t see this behaviour on bloody Dota subreddits? One of the most famously toxic games? How does it feel knowing your community is more toxic than Dota?
Hell, AoE2:DE communities don’t have this behaviour either, and that’s a way more competetive game than this given it is 1v1.
You have clearly chosen to completely ignore what I’ve said multiple times in order to try and twist it as some kind of personal attack, rather than a breakdown of your in-game statistics in comparison to the things you say in discussions surrounding the game.
I don’t think anyone’s dumb enough to see what you’re doing as anything but manipulative tactics.
This has nothing to do with the conversation at hand. Despite you having the same opinion that I have about multipath, your history doesn’t help support your statements. When people look into your profile, they want to know if your claims are credible from first hand knowledge or if you’re spouting an opinion from second-hand sources.
Your inability to grasp the fact that a dialogue ought be performed based on statements made, points given and the content of such rather than the person astounds me.
If you need statistics, they need to be handled in an anonymized, aggregate manner.
Imagine if an academic rejected a paper just because the author is a mere post-doc at some eastern european university rather than some big-shot in an R1 american.
You can continue making false metaphors and attempting to manipulate the discussion, but I simply find it pathetic at this point.
I would entirely forgive all of your transgressions if you were to just say sorry and admit you’re wrong, but you keep trying to gaslight me, and I don’t think that’s very nice at all.
People check stats in order to get a better idea on someone perspective and the validity of their opinions. I would trust someone’s opinion about a plane if they have 500 matches, and a 2:1 K:D, over someone who has only ever faced it.
For this thread, I would trust a long time sim player who plays lots of high tier sim, over someone who doesn’t play sim at all.
They question the credibility of the data, the way it was collected and the way it was interpreted.
Everything else is misconduct.
Same matter about credibility here:
If you can disregard an argument made because it has no data backing it up - say that. Say that the argument is garbage and demand proof.
People making statements should include replays, videos, screenshots or data sheets of collected observations.
I’ve seen people actually do just that on reddit: discussion about uptiering and bias and whatnot? Someeone went and made a large spreadsheet documenting their last N games and whether they were up/down tiered and by how much.
No, they question your opinion and assertion, to which you have nothing to back it. There is a major difference between your opinion and my opinion despite being the same, and that is relevant experience. They may disagree with me, but at the very least they respect that I have some relevancy to the discussion. You don’t have that. No one would get on your case if you state your opinion is based on outside observation, but this is not the case.
It is also a different case if you brought in real world data, to which you state your own observations and options. People do respect this, but the forums will debate what is good for the game. That kind of discussion is subjective and never has one answer to it.
I have not even stated my opinion on multipath at all on this thread. I don’t even have a crippled horse in this race, I just got pissed at people spending multiple pages going back and forth with personal attacks rather than discussing data and methodology.
If you got a suggestion/complaint/etc, screenshots/videos/excel tables should be included with them forming what you argue over, either by providing your own conflicting observation with backing or demanding better methodology on their part.
Suddenly, things would turn productive.
And perhaps, Gaijin might pay attention to the forums.
I know as a hobbyist dev (SS13), I wouldn’t look anywhere near any discord discussion about present and future features that are discussed like how this forum behaves. These guys are paid, so I’d expect them to push through but I still don’t blame them.
You attempted to give advice with this statement. This is why people vetted you and started calling you out. It would be like if I told people the C13 T90 was the best vehicle in the BR. They will rightly call me out on my poor performance. If I don’t have a valid excuse (which I certainly don’t), my claim will lose credibility.
While what you said above isn’t wrong from my perspective, you don’t have the experience to state that as you did.
When did I give advice on this statement? I believe you are confusing my profile picture with someone else rather than reading my name.
This is my only post in this thread before I came back and saw the utter shitfest, reported it, saw nothing was done so I went in to diss people for their disgraceful behaviour:
He didn’t give advice, I believe, what he did is attack @Boitatáツ and call him “creepy as fuck” for checking someone’s stats in an argument. Which I think is even worse.
Since that’s just an insult out of nowhere. For something completely warranted.
Boltara spent multiple pages going back and forth attacking another person rather than engaging with their argument.
If the quality of the other party was indeed suspect, Boltara’s proper procedure would have been to demand the other party to present proof in form of videos, screenshots or the very least collect data in some way or another.
Replays are public, so you don’t even need to play the game yourself to collect that data.
That’s fair enough. Imaigne my Pfp is not the most common, so I can understand the source of mistake. My initial contribution to this thread was simply to join and lament that the game lacks adequate tutorials and on-boarding.
