2025 wyvern still destroy 4.3 br
Wyvern use to be 4.7 along time ago. They moved it down.
So - the pay to win Wyvern (a 50s plane in ww2 ho hum). Even n00bs have been buying it recently judging by their level so even these guys can ignore when some poor lumbering bomber marks a target, tries to go for it and the sad, selfish wyvern player just ignores him and proceeds to the target anyway.
It’s fine if they mark the target first, but they know they can get there before anyone else and are just rude and non-team players. Don’t know about you but I feel like ramming or shooting their asses down.
There should be a system to stop this whereby whoever marks the target first gets 100% of the points for bombing it. If he dies before getting there this is reset. If some sado wyvern ignores that the target has been marked and they bomb it they only get 50%.
It really ruins the game for bombers this, and if you are flying one usually gets you shot down as you try to get another target.
Those who use a wyvern are probably most hated for this reason. They usually arent team players.
Just add more bombing targets/make them respawn quicker. Problem solved, end of story
Wrong
Wrong. Nobody hates wyvern players. You are just projecting. You do not even see that many wyverns in the first place
Serious? lol
What’s about players spawning a second too late?
What’s about you get killed before dropping bombs?
What’s about all those players marking wrong bases?
What’s about you are not able to destroy the whole base because of loadout?
Deal with it that you are not the only one able to bomb and nothing in this game is specific for you.
I tried a lot of times on specific maps damaging 2 bases, so bombers can do the rest and get rewards too. Guess what? Most of the time these bases were not destroyed.
I definitly will never fly with my full loadout around only to wait for players with 1/3 the speed of mine to get their rewards and not able to do anything else to the battle.
I hate Wyvern players. Most bomb bases and ignore their team. I also hate fighter-Wyvern players as they are a pain in the ass to deal with.
I’m a Wyvern player and I hate myself for what I have become.
Nope, right actually. Most of the negative chat is directed at Wyvern players for exactly the reason I gave.
Wrong again Hudler on the pay to win. You have to PAY to own a 1950s aircraft and have it in 1940s battles. Did you perhaps get yours free somehow?
Guess you’re just one of these people that like doing what I stated (i.e. ignore the team because you can do whatever you want in a Wyvern).
Deal with it? You sound like a kid who doesn’t fly lumbering bombers because you want to be Maverick all the time!
There are ways around the problems you stated, and you didn’t read or understand what I said at all, did you? Whoever marks the target 1st gets 100% of the reward for bombing it. PLEASE READ THE WHOLE COMMENT BEFORE GOING OFF ON ONE. THANKS.
I don’t think it’s bad if you are a Wyvern team player at all. Of course you want a bit of extra power if you pay for it. That’s normal. But a team of mostly Wyverns (ive seen six at once) and XP50s really can’t be beat.
It’s just the players who vex others by bending the rules because they can. You be impolite and go bomb a target marked by a B17 in your team results in slow him adjusting late on perhaps and if you do that in any heavy bomber you usually get shot down and have no points. It’s just selfish. Just because “you can” doesn’t mean “you should”. Play for the team and try to help everyone score.
I also have no problem with the Wyvern player marking the target first to that the heavy bombers know their intensions. That way they can react accordingly, adjusting to another target which increases their survivability and or ability to score.
Its supposed to be a team game after all. Think of the poor Israeli B17 that has to wait 6 days for a free repair after getting shot down because he had to adjust his course to try to get some points.
Giving someone who had not marked the strategic target they bombed first may make such players think twice about doing so and may even bring a bit of order (rather than chaos) to the team.
Do you have the same behaviour in battle like talking to people here?
So I hope there is a Wyvern every battle you join with your bomber.
Year of service means absolutely nothing. It has relative speed to most other aircraft at that BR and worse turn performance than the Spitfires at the same BR. Only thing of notable strength is the large ammo count of 20mm Hispanos.
But they are no more spammed or annoying than say the JU-288C at 6.0 is.
This isnt the Wyverns fault. Try playing a Tornado when the bases are just killed by Mig-23MLs and F-4S dropping Napalm on all the bases. This is just a gamemode problem. Heck. I’ve had this exact same issue, in heavy bombers at BRs where there are no Wyverns.
Blaming the Wyvern and wanting it nerfed or the players who have bought it punished because “I cant bomb in B-17” is just a little selfish.
BR are not historical, and is not tied to years of production. Thats why you have 1980 tank fighting 1940 tanks, and thats why you have 1950s plane fighting 1940s tanks
And it is not pay to win, because wyvern is balanced where it is.
There is literally none negative chat directed at wyvern players
ad personam
True, but everyone rather blame players or want to nerf specific planes instead of trying to force gjn to change anything.
Limitation of plane sorts would be an easy change, we talked about a lot, but gjn ignores it over years.
Additionally, especially at high tiers, a working loadout view in the scoreboard would help somewhat. Bug reported many times, totally ignored.
Wyvern is under-tiered and we all know it. Wyvern is pay to win and we all know that too (few fighters can even catch one at the BR its at - and if you don’t happen to have one that can left in your team you are screwed).
No actually - I tended to mouth off much more at team killers. Don’t know what games you’ve been playing, but I guess you mustn’t have paid much attention to the chat in relation to Wyvern players stealing bomber targets (you were probably the one doing it). If some poor bomber pilot marks a target you will sometimes even see a Wyvern change course just to annoy him.
Of course there are problems in higher tiers with aircraft like the Tornado. I’m not saying there aren’t.
And tier DOES matter! Of course it does. Move the Wyvern up a little and it causes less problems. Moreover, LIMIT th4e number allowed in a game to a max of 4 or something and it gives their opponents more of a chance. Ever seen how long a game lasts when 4-6 Wyverns are ground attacking?
Look, I offered a solution to these problems based on who marks the targets first. The nice thing about that is it applies to ANY aircraft at any tier. Its key advantage? The lumbering bomber knows in advance that the target is already marked and can adjust accordingly. If, as a bomber pilot, you have to make some sort of course adjustment half way through your run then you are basically screwed. You have a chance if you know what you are doing at the start of the game. War thunder isn’t just about fighters, though it may be to some of you mavericks.
Anyone who doesn’t get irked by Wyverns stealing bases obviously doesn’t fly bombers, nor care about developing that line.
I hope it stays 4.3 in ground, I find the 3.3 Hellcat much preferable for ground pounding.
Guess that because you have it, right?! I think it is about right at 5.0. But that’s just me. The Hellcat doesn’t seem to do that well overall. Perhaps you have the knack for it.
Balanced based on what? Your opinion?
I mean if you would have played more than 1.090 Air RB battles in total you might have actual experience to validate your claim…
Same as this:
You simply lack any long-term Air RB experience - without that your whole position is not really backed up by in-game experience.
Especially during grinding events is is very common to see 6-8 in one match; 10 was the most i have seen - there is no slot limit for strike aircraft in Air RB.
This is a fact-free opinion if you look up the definition of p2w.
The early game presence flown as fighter simply allows subpar players to collect easy frags; the few experienced pilots using them as fighter can stay untouchable if the play it like an early jet.
Don’t get me wrong: There is nothing bad investing a few bucks to buy an op vehicle - just try to be honest.
This is an honest statement of a far more experienced pilot describing the impact of above average pilots:
I also hate fighter-Wyvern players as they are a pain in the ass to deal with.
Nothing more to add…
This is the reality:
I definitly will never fly with my full loadout around only to wait for players with 1/3 the speed of mine to get their rewards and not able to do anything else to the battle.
I fully agree.
It makes zero sense to fly out a 4 engine bomber in Air RB and hoping that you can outrun a Wyvern or that you are able to bomb a base first. Actually successful (=dropping and rtb safely) bomber pilots time their route so that they avoid interceptors and are ready to bomb bases after the base respawn…
Imho your requests are a bit off-topic:
- It doesn’t matter if a Wyvern or a 110 rushes to kill 1 or 2 based; you have to accept that this bombing ability is part of their sales concept; so there won’t be any kind of economic nerf for them.
- Marking bases is a relic from 2019 in order to maximize the payload that can be dropped on the enemy airfield - nobody cares about base markers anymore.
Year of service means absolutely nothing.
This is a bold statement - and you are way too experienced to repeat this in infinite loops. 11 years between a 1942 service aircraft (109 G-2) and a Wyvern (1953) are light years in aviation.
There is not a single aircraft which is able to match the dive speed and speed on the deck - as long as the Wyvern pilot uses speed and a safety net (=2 km altitude) any fighter diving on them can be out run at this BR.
It has relative speed to most other aircraft at that BR and worse turn performance than the Spitfires at the same BR. Only thing of notable strength is the large ammo count of 20mm Hispanos.
Speed: See above. Turning? Seriously? U compare turn performance??? With a Spitfire???
But they are no more spammed or annoying than say the JU-288C at 6.0 is.
Ofc Wyverns are way more annoying:
- There is no slot limit for strike aircraft, Ju 288s are max 4 per match
- Flown as fighter they allow way too easy frags - every rookie can enforce 2 FCHs (FullCommitHead-ons) and kill one or 2 enemies…
Blaming the Wyvern and wanting it nerfed or the players who have bought it punished because “I cant bomb in B-17” is just a little selfish.
I agree to this fully.
As stated earlier: There is nothing wrong with buying an easy to use aircraft that can be flown (in Air RB) with brain on stand-by. But it is extremely funny when their users claim that everything is fine, nothing to see here…
Idc about Wyvern BRs outside Air RB - and even within Air RB you can deal with them as long as average players use them for bombing stuff. But as soon as you meet a good pilot in them they are a pain in the ass to fight and decide more than often the numbers game.
So the current BR of 4.3 in Air RB reflects just the average user and the premium character of it - that’s why experienced pilots fly them with great success ( like in post #63) - from my pov the Yak-3 spam at 4.0/4.3 has a much larger game impact that the average Wyvern pilot.
Edit:
Reality is no place where unicorns meet each other to have a chat. My post was flagged as “offensive” - i can’t stop laughing.
Now we see the unicorn version…
This is flat wrong - and you are way too experienced to repeat this in infinite loops. 11 years between a 1942 service aircraft (109 G-2) and a Wyvern (1953) are light years in aviation. There is not a single aircraft which is able to match the dive speed and speed on the deck - as long as the Wyvern pilot uses speed and a safety net (=2 km altitude) any fighter diving on them can be out run at this BR
So… Typhoon FGR4 entered service in 2008. Mirage 2KD RMV entered service in 2021. Therefore the Typhoon should be a lower BR than the Mirage 2KD RMV?
Year of service means nothing, it has no impact on BR or placement. Otherwise you’d see vehicles like the 2S38 which has yet to enter service, at a higher BR than the Challenger Mk2. About 45 years difference.
Speed: See above. Turning? Seriously? U compare turn performance??? With a Spitfire???
Yes? 4.3 Wyvern vs 4.3 Spitfire, Spitfire wins most of the time. Its got good dive speed, because its a dive bomber. But no faster than something like an FW190 in a dive. Flat line speed its average. Not a lot faster than the Sptifire at that BR, and probably slower than a few like the Yak-3 and XP-50.
The only real advantages the Wyvern actually has, is:
-
Air spawn
-
Large ammo count of 20mm allowing for Spray and Pray (in the equivalent BR Sptifire you have to be fairly conservative)
The Wyvern is actually quite a fragile aircraft for the BR, being water cooled, it doesnt take much to rather cripple the airframe, only needs a few good hits, even with lighter weapons. I’d still consider aircraft like the Yak-3 are far more deadly aircraft to encounter than the Wyvern and upping its BR would just render it DOA. Best option is to just remove it airspawn, but that goes for many, like the XP-50
The wyvern is a great example of why we need decompression.
Ungodly broken in a downtier and bad in a uptier.
However its speed helps it stay alive
