Is it reasonable to move the JAS39D squadron vehicle down to 13.3?
My opinion. Honestly, I think the JAS39D should be moved from 13.7 to 13.3. I don’t really understand why it’s sitting at 13.7 when it doesn’t even have a gun, which puts it at a disadvantage in close-range fights, especially when you run out of missiles. Meanwhile, the premium Su-30MK is sitting at 13.3 with 6 missiles. I feel like the JAS39D should at least be considered for 13.3 as well. I’m not saying it’s a bad aircraft, but with no gun and its reliance on missiles, 13.7 feels a little too high. I just think its BR should be reconsidered to make it more balanced. I mean it could be also because it carries 2 RB74(m) but idk
since the su30 mkk is 13.3 surely they can swap brs but gaijin will never do that

Although I do agree with the gripen D possibly going down
It’s an aircraft forced into close range fights due to missile, defensive kits and flight perf yet it lacks the most important feature for it to do well.

Which is a huge downgrade vs the other 13.7 gripens (Let’s avoid the SA gripen’s R-darter for now)
It should probably be fine since any knower can just force the dogfight (or headon) and feel confident in winning.
Ideal solution is always decompression though, move the problem vehicles up and add a new top br or two
does also beg the question of just how often it comes down to guns at 13.7
at least in gripens, sure its quite often but for most average ARB players it wont matter much if at all
If it is to move down, I think it shouldn’t retain its BOL or be nerfed in some other way, though the Su-30MK and J-11A etc are already better than it, (13.7 material anyway)

Still tricky. If compared directly to something like the F-16As at 13.3, then it has Aim-9Ms vs Aim-9Ls and 80 LCMs and 12 CM vs 30 CM and 15 LCM. Likely a better overall FM too.
Whilst the loss of 2-4 BOL would help create seperation from the Gripen Cs, its still not entirely clean enough to justify it going down to 13.3 alone, Probably would need the loss of Aim-9Ms as well, and I think when combined with the lack of a gun, that nerf just hits it too hard. Especially as unlike the F-16s, you cant run 6x AMRAAM.
Not discounting the lack of gun being notable, but I cant recall the last time I got a gunkill at 13.0+
So Id wait for decompression and maybe drop the BOL count a bit if its needed after that
i dont think it should lose its 9ms if it goes down in br 13.3 without irccm is a pretty big nerf and basically turns it into an f16xl without a gun.

Hot take, before the ARH buff the SA Gripen was the best Gripen C in the game for the explicit reason of having R-Darter.

Can the Gripen D resive more A2G oridinance? Only having 4 TV/IR guided Rockets and some GNSS guided bombs and laser bombs, it anit good in the current top tier
No it’s supposed to be a Gripen for training, it’s loadouts are the same as the C. Same goes for the Gripen F, it matches the Gripen E

Ive only played the C varient but if had to guess its probably the radar that makes it at such a high br. The missle count is lack luster but comparable to the mig 29 n at 13.3 but with a better radar and missles. Ive seen this mainly with things like the f2a adws where the loadout sucks but because the radar is a borderline awac it gets put up to 13.0 with fox 1s. It makes sense tho. In the hands of a someone new its sucks but the radar gives you crazy situational awarnes to pick your battles. The grippens radars obviously aren’t as good but still leages better then the mig 29 at 13.3. This is only in context of export versions though since I’m a Japan main.

Blue Vixen/PS-05 (Same radar in-game currently) are fine radars that get the job done, and potentially are better than the mig-29Ns m-scan radar. I have no idea, but I also dont think the PS-05 is massively ahead of something like the Mig-29SMTs radar, or the Premium Su-30s, or maybe even the F-16s.
13.7 is perfectly fine for the Gripen Cs with their good FM, large CM count (though nerfed) and overall kit, but the Gripen D gets messy because of the lack of gun, which for an aircraft that does somewhat favour WVR makes it messy. It should be lower than the Gripen Cs, but I dont think it should be the same BR as some at 13.3 like the F-16s either.
Its ultimately just a compression issue and it will likely sit lower relatively speaking if/when they ever decide to actually decompress and IF its good enough
