I admit Im not sure why they gave it 9Ps at 9.7. one of the rare bizzare but awesome buffs to japan. The F1 dropping to 10.0 was nice too, but I think that plane is better at 10.0 with the two extra missiles. Im not actually sure if Ive played the T-2 since it got the 9Ps tbh.
Is it OP like that? Ehh the missiles are, the airframe isnt imo.
It absolutely is not faster than an F104.
It might outrun a 9B if it was in full AB going mach and the missile was launched from more than 1.5km away. Anything else in a straight line? Nah.
It can pull high AOA on one 90ish degree hard turn, say for a quick deflection shot. Once you’ve done that though it falls out of the sky pretty quickly. In a constant low speed turn fight with another aircraft it loses to most of the competition in its BR range.
Both T2 and F1 are best at climbing high and chucking top down missiles at unsuspecting people humping the deck
And you dont even remember when T-2 got added and it was fighting Sabres F-2 and Hunter F.1s with MiG-17s. And it had the radar aim circle which at that time was basically aimbot. its the reason the old axis vs allies MM got removed. As teams were full japan fighting US/UK on Pacific maps.

I don’t think the F-4C has a single redeeming feature. Wow, 8 missiles. All of them suck.
While I would like that to return, I would settle just for split teams being removed TBH, I think that is a serious issue for balance as what ever the new OP thing is gets spammed, the teams get split and you end up with 2/3rs of BOTH teams being premium Su-30s (to use the best current example) then because it’s basically just Su-30 vs Su-30 which are obviously fairly matched their performance so the statistics even out and it looks like it’s not over preforming despite the few not Su-30s in each match getting butchered in seconds.
Of course with Russia and china both having them you sort of get the same issue, but at least you could look at the difference between when they are on the same team vs fighting each other.
I agree at the very least keeping it non-mixed would be better than what they’re doing now
The secret is they added a premium version, the T-2 Early, which as anyone with any experience with the game could have predicted, wasn’t selling.
A copy paste of an already bad vehicle for a minor nation tech tree that’s already easy to grind through due to how small it is, and buying it doesn’t even let you skip the suffering that is the F-4EJ.
Then, for no stated reason in particular, Gaijin decided to add AIM-9Ps to both version of the T-2. What a strange coincidence.
Didn’t help all that much, the T-2 Early still sold terribly due to the other reasons stated above, and it was quickly removed, making it one of the shortest selling premiums in the entire game.
