are they gonna do something like that to their F-2s, with giving it a massive upgrade package?
All we know is that some F-2s are planned to get an “overhaul” and air launched version of Type 12 SSM Kai once it finished development - nothing points at an MLU at the moment.

a MLU upgrade for the F-2 would be peak if they did that. upgraded engine, MAW, LWS, HMD and integration with more advanced AAM. We can only pray if they get around to drop that kind of money on such uprades

I mean considering the F-2 is slated for less then a decade of continued use, they’re not gonna be doing anything too large.
Even HMD would be huge upgrade in this case.
