So guys do yall think it’s better or worse than the f-15 at both 13.0/13.7?
I’d say, ADTW is better than 13.0 F-15 (same missile loadout, better radar, worse dynamics, but better dogfighter), but tech tree one is worse than F-15J(M). Worse missile loadout and lacking of HMD are crucial. ACM is NOT a replacement for HMD.
I had a lot of situations when I have 1-2 enemy planes in ~10 km in front of me, and few enemies in ~15-20 km in front of me. I need to choose closer target, launch my missile and go defensive. But I can’t! Because ACM locks everything but the target I need. So, I need to fight with ACM instead of my enemy. So, I can’t launch my missile in time, so I can’t get a kill, or simply die. In a second case, you can go defensive immediately, without trying to launch your missile, but it’s already bad (sometimes fatal bad) positioning. Just because you don’t have HMD.
You also can’t launch IR missiles proactively if the enemy is going towards or perpendicular to you

I like the f2-a more than the f-15jm even tho the jm can use 8 spamram´s and hmd. the f2-a turns pretty consistent at every speed. and only having 4 aam4´s is not that bad if you get onto close range combat…
and I just turn the radar off when I used the aam4´s and go into a close range fight so the aam3´s wont go for targets I dont want…
That seems to be a bug that needs fixing. No other ACM behaves this way and it’s very annoying.

there was a test for it however data is scarce, confirmed it fell through/didnt get added

tbh neither did the Su30 get the fairy tale missile Kh38MT

if i recall the Rafale at least the version we have ingame didnt operate HMD either, however it receives one
if this was the case how come the F-2A’s are not allowed?
I mean just balance the game bro i don’t want to point the nose to enemy anymore ACM is bad bro it’s lock everything but enemy.
Gaijin is selective about this stuff. One day they remove the true fire and forget nature of Brimstones, the next day they buff the prototype Kh38MT because being truly fire and forget (and not even requiring a direct hit anyway) wasn’t strong enough.
