Mitsubishi F-2

Also F18C early with datalink sparrows at 12.7 (6 of them) that seems balanced

While the first part is good - Gaijin doesn’t want to add GCS-1 for whatever reason (even tho files about it are in the game) and all bugreports about them are ignored - the second part is basically just bad report. Not because of arguments or documents, but because of lack of common sense.

AAM-3 are not on F-4EJ Kai because of balance reasons. Nobody will let fly a plane with 4 IRCCM and 4 SARH missiles at 12.7. And at 13.0 we have F-15J. And also, no reasoning. EJ Kai is good at its current state

Could do F-4EJ Kai (Late) and folder it under the ej kai so its entirely optional

And they refused the GCS-1 cause β€œNo proof it can track tanks”

Despite that it has been proven it can indeed track tanks

People who buy it (and other top tier premiums) are largely not great with the game, you can give it AIM-176 and its perfomance would barely move + A-G kit is pretty weak

Send these proofs then! At least here. A direct proof, that GCS-1 seeker is able to track tanks.

I’ll send them once again once I am home on my pc

Penguin can so GCS-1 can as well. As far as physics goes ships and tanks are more or less the same in terms of IR signature

Anti ship missile: can track tanks

IR guided bomb: cant track tanks

I think somethings wrong here but idk what it is

@Xnekron the image youka saryn posted the chart is one thats constantly posted

One can argue abot size difference but ships are generally speaking colder targets due to engine block being under several decks and often underwater (unlike tanks that has it more or less wide open) and as far as I know GCS-1 is more of an anti-landing craft munition rather than anti-warship one so size difference is not so drastic as well.

GCS-1 has a dual wavelength allowing it to track ships and tanks as well as tell the difference between a high (missiles and jets) and low heat (ships and tanks) signatures

I never found any information about seeker head for it, I suspect it is more or less same as on ASM-2 given timeline of development, but anyway it’s primary target would be something like Type 067 Landing craft β€œYunnan” which is hardly bigger than tank it carries

I read through a PDF document i found on japans mod.go (public info)
Thats where i found the information about the dual wavelength etc

If you are talking about this one

Spoiler

There is no any information that this is GCS-1seeker. I’ve seen information, that this is taken from presentation about thermals, and not related to seekers at all. Also, distance is only 1.8 km, so it won’t be useful in the game.

Would like to see it though

Doesn’t really change the fact that tanks and ships are more or less in same tempetature spectrum so their IR signature would still be the same. This graph depicts how much of UV/IR radiation from target (target radiating 100% obviously) sensor can see. It also detect bigger procentage of UV becasue UV is way better of going through atmosphere.

Also info on it having dual wavelenght seeker seems plausible considering AAM-3 and Type 91 SAM was developed in the same time

That the point. It can be used as smth close related, but it’s not about GCS-1 and cannot be used to as direct proof!

Tanks should be hotter than ship, but they are way smaller. Discussions suppose to be around distance of tracking, and not the ability itself.

They were, but then what? Maybe they decided to reduce cost and use single wave seeker. Without any documents it’s just speculations…

Not just weapons or IRST, FCS was also not installed on 141.

It was tested in labratory.

Direct proof Penguin can track tanks from 20 km?
