Back on topic, I hope we can see XF-2B 004 in game. The first F-2 to actually mount J/APG-1 AESA radar, and with that the worlds first AESA fighter. Also the first armed F-2
Also another first of this aircraft was being the first to mount an astromech droid.
This way the current Type 81 (C) can also stay at a lower BR (and hopefully move down again too), while the version with full radar search and datalink is at a higher BR.
Pretty sure that’s the user mission from a while back, which iirc is just F-16C with bigger wing area in terms of FM (but I might remember wrong).
Anyways while this means it’s missing drag, it also doesn’t account for the larger LERX, extended tail, enlarged elevators, difference in wing shape and bigger trailing and leading edge flaps, so we’ll just have to wait and see what an actual F-2 performs like.
User model, you can tell cause the elevons and leading edge doesn’t move. The AAM-4s lack MRM adapters aside from the pylons the user model has them on by default, and the paint scheme is wrong.
That being said, it does have a different radar to the user model usually, someone must’ve actually spent some time messing around with it. I considered making a new radar to mess around with on it for some testing myself, but decided not to with it’s actual release so soon.
Just checked user mission from WT.Live. Model in video has different missile and fuel loadout, but also missing gear and has sniper for some reason. In video over G is also turned off. It’s a fake. Should have done it before posting here
Yeah, I doubt it will perform badly. Especially when considering the WT “Maneuver Mode” that it would probably get, the fact that the airframe is very durable since it’s meant to perform high G loading even with payload and that there’s still a (very slight) possibility they model DY and ME modes.
It wouldn’t really be meta since it’s still rather slow, but it would find its niche.
But at the same time I did try the user mission as well again and that video is a modified flight model (might also just be set to arcade). That doesn’t mean the F-2 isn’t already very agile in the user mission, but it doesn’t defy physics the way it did in the deep fried fake leak video.
