Mitsubishi F-15J

I’m not sure if Gaijian will accept that. I don’t think anyone really knows how “big” the area is that the MAWs would function, so there would need to be a lot of guessing, which Gaijian has shown with the AAM-4 to not be very fond of.

can’t find anything about such a thing, the only thing I found is about AN/ALQ-128 being mounted on F-15E here:https://tealgroup.com/images/TGCTOC/sample-wmcab2.pdf
and here:https://www.forecastinternational.com/archive/disp_old_pdf.cfm?ARC_ID=1244 there is info on AN/ALQ-153(V) being mounted only on B-52

The ALQ-127s entry literally sixth entry in that section, and

excuse me, I am just blind then

Depending on how much you believe the Japanese wikipedia, it was just a modification to add a switch box to the LAU-114 for AAM-5.

and what about these pods next to the lights? what are they?

I’d grind Japan air if they gave the F-15J that camo for sure

Those black pods are the j/apq4 rwr

The F-15EX has MAWS covers on the sides of the fuselage below and behind the cockpit, but they don’t work. The USAF did not procure MAWS for the EX. Maybe someday.

I think it intentional, initially J Kai had same weight as usual J, then weight was increased but not as heavy as F-15C/BazMash

I’m probably going to 4/4 as IR missiles are kinda meta and smokeless ones in ground RB are amazing.

However, at least we can carry AIM-120s in case the AAM-4 ends up sucking lol.

If they hate speculation so much, I think they should stop trying to implement something that requires speculation…
Modern weapons are shrouded in so much mystery, yet within their limitations we have shown based on samples that they are either “this is what they are (but their exact capabilities are unknown)” or “that is wrong (but what is right is unknown)”, yet we don’t understand why they won’t even acknowledge it.

Not that it’s the end of the world, but if J/APQ-1 is good enough to function as MAWS, I think we should at least get this much:

Even if there is no automatic flare ejection function, we know that it is an active rearward warning radar system, so it should at least alert us to IR missiles in the rear.

Automatic countermeasure dispension is useless anyway

Hmmm… if implementation is not acceptable on the grounds that we don’t know if it has an automatic countermeasure ejection function, could we at least suggest that they implement an alarm function?
And if it’s a negative prediction like, ‘The aircraft is of a specification that has not been retrofitted with integrated electronic warfare equipment, so it has not been converted to an ALE-47 and will not have automatic flare dispersal. The only thing that will work is the IRM approaching alarm’ then I might accept that.
I think it would be quite useful just to reduce the number of people being taken by surprise out of the blue.
It would also be useful when J/ALQ-9 is implemented in the future.

Just want to share some thoughts about AAM-4 and situation around them. The new F-15J was named “F-15J Kai” at first. The problem is - this is not official name. That means, somebody was reading “third-party documents” and decided to name new plane according to them. It looks like some kind of hypocrisy. If Gaijin use “third-party documents” - it’s fine. If smb else use them to improve in-game weapon - “this is not a reliable source”. What do you think?

I 100% agree, I would even say that they are making the stuff up (I know that they have to do the guessing), and then even if somebody has some actual source they are like nah not valid

Just go look over here AAM-4 wrong range and weight - #8 by ikilledmybunny24
they want solid fuckin concrete numbers for a missile that is still used so most of the stuff is either
very hard to find, restricted, or classified. But they made the missile’s engine perform like a mentos in a coke bottle which obviously isn’t correct, I also wonder if the drag is bad too
