Missile counter Missile method is a terrible mechanic for the game

yes IRL BVR is everything that’s why navy wants things like the Mallace dogfights don’t happen often either BVR is boring and I can keep yapping about why but I wont

Because MCM is literally just a full get out of jail free card for basically an entire joust, especially in isolated fights, and the issue is more extreme when the MCMing player has better missiles/radar.
I don’t know why you seem to think everyone else in this thread has skill issue when your own scorelines are practically in the dirt, while Migoon is ~20 SR1 off of the top 200 and I’ve hit an SR1 that would place me into the top 100

That’s great bro. but what does this have to do with anything

wait what? really?

holy shit, I need grind

thats because thats the typical max because no countries choose to run the 16 AMRAAM loadout. there isnt really anything that would stop the EX from doing it

That’s literally what boeing said, idk why they wouldn’t say it if it could carry that many missiles

IRL no one uses or has any real reason to use a 16 AMRAAM loadout.

Make it make sense

The only plane you will be sitting at exactly mach 1.0 in at the altitude you should be flying is a hornet. And that plane is tied for having the most missiles in the game to make up for it. In something like an f16 you can easily hold mach 1.5-1.8, and in an f15, mach 2+. If you don’t just hold S to instantly turn and instead make a more gradual turn, you will keep most of your speed, and easily stay at least at mach 1.5. Combine that with dropping altitude to drag the missile into thicker air and making 45 degree left and right turns to bleed the missile of its energy, it will not be able to reach you unless launched within 10km. And at that point, you are already deep into a series of mistakes that no amount of notching would save you from, unless you have a convenient mountain to quickly jump behind to block the missile

huh? you only need about 1k meters for mach 1.10?

In DCS, notching only works while close to the ground. You can enter the notch angle and the missile won’t be able to see you because it needs to keep its PD filter on for targets close to the ground (you can do this in WT too). But if the plane keeps datalink on you, the missile will still hit.

If you play something even more realistic like Falcon BMS, notching might as well be impossible.

Every comment GxneralEagle makes only proves how ignorant he is at the topic. Yeah, just gamble that the F-15 won’t shoot you while you’re base bombing in one of the slowest jets of your BR bracket. Very smort.

In a fox-3 match, you should be waaaaay higher than 1km alt. ~9.5 km works best, since thats the highest you can go without making contrails in most maps. At those altitudes, the hornet struggles to maintain mach, while all other fighters can comfortably sit at mach 1.5-1.8+

how?

thats not so smart 9.5 k is above contrail height

Smarter than base bombing. And 9.5k is below contrail for some maps.

its not people ingnore base bombing flanks

ehh, I recommend 7-8km most times so you don’t sacrifice too much flight performance

Then why are you barely breaking even in your MKK? Almost like people are shooting you down as you b*sebomb.

The ignorance is surreal
