Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

I noticed today tha tthe Viggen has better nose authority and stall characteristics than the Mirage 2000 perios. Unless you defeat it in the first 2 turns it just hovers behind you. I had a easier time against the Viggen (C) in the Mirage IIIE than in the Mirage 2000.

Probably due to pilot error. Mouse aim doesn’t favor the M2K tho.

'Twas no pilot error.
It is almost funny how the aerodynamically unstable Mirage 2000 with sophisticated fly-by-wire system falls short of the performance of the aerodynamically stable Viggen without fly-by-wire.

Well when M2k get fixed this isn’t going to be a thing anymore and Viggen really won’t have anything to be praisable for.

The viggen certainly doesn’t perform as well as the M2K. Feel free to post any proof otherwise, it’s you’re claim.

Regarding low speed performance stall characteristics etc. it certainly seems to be in air rb with mouse control with keyboard input for the elevator.

Once Mig-23Ms FM report gets fixed, maybe we can revisit the Mirage 2000’s mouse aim stall characteristics relative to sim controls compared to something like the Mig-29/F-14 and etc.

Hopefully all these bug reports are implemented in this upcoming October update.

Update more likely mid september because the 14th of june when they revealed the roadmap they said next major update after La Royale was aimed to release in september. So even less waiting time.

i only assume October because of some of the delays we have had with last 2 updates

Low-speed should benefit the Viggen more than Mig-29 & M2K
The real thing is M2K should have superior low speed to Mig-29, especially at higher altitudes.

Could you explain why the Viggen would profit from low speeds compared to the Mirage 2000?
I see no reason why it would.

Canard bites into the air a bit more than leading edge slats if I remember correctly.

i’m sure it is not that simple where a aerodynamically unstable airframe which is supported by fly-by-wire is concerned - in regard to the Mirage. That the Viggen wont suffer from compressor stalls is fine, who knows it’s stalling speed might be lower. But it’s controllability and handling should not be superior as well even IF the former points do apply.

Additionally the Viggen does not even have to drop it’s nose from what I see in game to pick up speed again.
Combined with thrust to weight…

Exciting. Too bad last guy purposely crashed than be my 12th kill.

Do we know if the Viggen currently has a lower stall speed in sim compared to M2K currently though?

No idea I’m not a sim player, neither is the guy whom I was flying with. But interesting would be the real life comparison and how much the implementation of both aircraft differs in game.
