Considering the short range META of the game, the MICA truly will be an interesting missile. Back to the times when the Magic 1 and 2 were first introduced, France might have the most capable missile for a time once more
I really hope they do something about the multi-pathing.
in rb at least its so nice to be able to start notching while your firing how I survived trades that should be lethal for both players
I hope they at least remove it from sim, as a beta test.
Look at the bright side, they already removed multi pathing from SPAAs (except for Arcade I believe ?), so they might work towards removing it completely eventually
Yep, removal from sim would be great, was writing up a suggestion post about this but I have not had much time lately. Even a compromise like just removing it from fox 3’s would be good enough for me, lower tiers wouldn’t have a massive shift in meta and top tier gets to experience true BVR combat.
I was just mentioning it in another thread :
but I absolutely despise the ground hogging gameplay loop that has been brought by the R27ER.
I believe multi path should be removed from every tier
-Lower tier uses older missiles, which suffer more from multi pathing so it would not completely disappear. Those missiles are also rather easily evadable, with either flares for CW guided missiles, or just by dodging
-high tier ground hogging needs to die. By making games 8x8, without multi path, it would make the game far more interesting to play. Sure, many people will stop having their dopamine rush from firing 6 aIM9M and getting 5 kills in 10 seconds, but that would imo make the game more enjoyable in the long run.
Gaijin could (and should) also work on adding more mods. I personally love the idea of sim EC, but I simply dislike the sim gameplay. I would love to have EC matches (big maps, many objectives, respawn) with realistic controls. And for those dopamine addicts that can’t do without destroying 10 enemies in a row with r73 and ERs, then a more arcady realistic mod with limited map sizes and long range load outs. I think today the player base is big enough to warrant new game modes without having huge queue times
Done, uploaded to imgur.
Technically you are not entirely right ground hogging has also been brought by the Phoenixes that have pretty good chances to hit if you are above 300m of the ground even more now that they can maneuver more at a greater ranges of speeds. At the time flying low and doing 2 or 3 turns was enough to make Phoenixes miss you. Now you have to hog ground + move quite a few times and if possible notch and chaff to be sure to dodge. I don’t count the number of times i managed to get hit by phoenixes due to terrain shaping and using the old tehcnique to dodge them and if i didn’t get hit directly it was always a close call and i ended up getting damaged.
Also i’ll check if it hasen’t already been done and tomorrow i’ll be making a suggestion about the introduction of RB EC matches in the event section of the game just like Naval EC.
Phoenixes really were a non issue when you learned how to deal with them (mainly stay a bit farther notch and pre chaff as long as you get pinged at the beginning of a match) imo.
tysm :)
Apparently in RB F-15 has the low speed handling - especially AOA - the Mirage 2000 would have if it was allowed to pull by the flight instructor.
Very disappointing to lose a dogfight against a F-15 suicidally slowing down into the turn without getting the shot for multiple turns but not being able to cash in on the energy advantage myself since the F-15 just hovers or pulls while my Mirage 2000 tumbles about at speeds below 600 km/h.
This was discussed by some of us and will be looked at again after the next flight model changes goes live.
Last time the flight instructor performance was brought up, the developers stated,
“AoA is limited for better handling (mouse aim causes pitch and yaw oscillations at high aoa for all mirages) and better energy saving during tight turns. Higher the angles slows down the mirages to 200-300km/h very quickly. Current limits is the best compromise between energy saving, controllability and agility.”
You can see here that the devs were concerned that Air RB players will “slow down” too quickly and bleed too much speed so they limited the AoA.
But, the next major should increase the sustain rate across the speed of 550 km/h to 1,400kmh. So it will be worth asking them to “loosen” the instructor again after they implement the next change. Another bug report will be submitted.
Even fighting sim M2K with mouse aim M2K is such a drastic noticeable difference for me with sim M2Ks feeling like UFOs, and so the eventual goal is to bring mouse aim performance as close as possible to sim performance.
I’ve started switching control modes in air rb because the limiter gets me killed so often it really is a shame.
What control mode do you switch to? I’m just starting to touch the waters of sim so its all new to me rn.
Id recommend a HOTAS if you’re gonna get in sim, but i do know players that swear by mouse joystick. HOTAS is a lot more intuitive though imo. The plane kinda flies like a glove, particularly when paired with VR.
very situational usually switch to full real and just hold c and use wasd
Damn man.^^
