Mig-21 Bison needs to increase the BR to 12.7 or 13

Maybe MiG-21 Bison is a 12.45-ish kind of jet I think

it might be a bit too good for the current 12.3BR,
Still, Sending the current 12.7 and tying it with the MiG-29 or Mirage 2000C-S5 feels like a dumb move.

Especially if the reason is

  • I want to kick some 10.n BR idiots with no CM with mah Python 3-armed F-5
  • but that Indian Jet is annoying as hell, feels like mah F-5T became unplayable
  • So I want it dead and become unplayable, for my fun.

As long as MiG-21 Bison’s fuselage is from MiG-21bis.
If they want to tie with those 12.7BR 4th Gen jets, Bison must get something extra.
(I like the current loadout on 12.3)

  • Giving options to arm R-27ER/ET.
    Then, MiG-29 has a better fuselage (MiG-29>MiG-21) but we have a better IR missile (R-60M<R-73). and will become more suited for 12.7BR.
  • or Extra countermeasure pods which were proposed on the original MiG-21-93 upgrade plan. (MiG-21-93)
    it will make double the CM than now (120 total)
    FYI, This idea is unhistorical, Because, even though MiG-21 Bison’s upgrade plan itself were based on 21-93, but not the 100% same plan.

You ae somewhat correct. F-5 at 10 are strong however at 11.3 are trash. It really hard to score a kill where many of your enemy are bvr capable aircraft while f-5 is pure for dogfight. My f-5 mostly killed by radar guided missile

Have you played f-5t against bison, f-16, and mirage f1c? Fuselage are nothing special in the bvr fight. Most of the kill are using radar guided missile.

Jh-7a Is a strike aircraft for cas. I only see one time so far in air battle. It just go to base, bomb, then killed by somebody. If it is for air battle, I would say the br should be max 11.7 for this aircraft considering the speed and the extra load.
My comparison is for fighter vs fighter.
Do u have another example of fighter with only 2 aim without IRCCM with br over 12?

F-5E FCU can bring 1 base of bombs, same as JH-7A, while having 2 Python 3s, and 2 non-Python 3s.
F-5E FCU is 11.3, the JH-7A is 12.3.

On top of that, F-5E FCU has a superior airframe to that of Mig-21 Bison.
So Bison loses airframe performance and gains 2x R-73s and 2x big missiles.

I have more comparisons but little time for now.

Sorry, ATM I am really feeling all this conversation is nothing but cringe F-5 copinum.

If we compare MiG-21bison with MiG-29G(Germany) or Su-27(Soviet) on 13.0BR

  • MiG-29G has 2 extra R-73, can use R-27ER/ET which acts way better than R-27R/T.
  • Su-27 has 2 extra R-73, can use R-27ER/ET which acts way better than R-27R/T, with 4 extra SARH capability (2 vs 6)

and if we compare MiG-21bison with Mirage 2000C-S5 on 12.7BR

  • Mirage 2000C-S5 has way more countermeasures. but no HMD.

(I didn’t mention about superior manoeuvrability thanks to fuselage difference, because you want to ignore that diffrence and be blindfolded.)

Yes. BVR capability is important at the moment when you reach high enough to face radar missiles which is better than R-3R.

Still, Fuselage matters when the match enters the second phase.

and “Save my F-5T from Bison jerks! Ruin their day for save my day!” is nothing but a malicious claim.

In the current compression shitstorm, there is no reason to send Bison into 12.7-13.0.

Honestly, all the Mig-21s are pretty crazy. The only one that doesn’t oppress everything it faces in both uptiers and downtiers is the 9.3.

But, fairer fight than between MiG-21 Bison(on 13.0 if your claim is accepted.) and F-15E.

I compared Bison with MiG-29G and 2000C-S5 to prove sending Bison directly into 12.7-13.0 is unfair.
I admitted that the current bison is on perfect cherry-picking sweetspot.

It just can’t go higher due to compression issues.
as long as MiG-21 bison can’t armed with R-27ER(the soviet magic stick), it can’t be same level on those MiG-29/Su-27s.

Your theory sounds like nothing but biasing F-5T.

it is not biasing. It is reality. f-5t designed for dog fight. they added the hmd for that as well. bison is more for bvr. even for dogfight, it has r73 with irccm. if it is equipped with r-60mk, i won’t post this kind of remark although bison only has r-27r. mig-23ml also have r-24r. i won’t complain with mig23. a bit of meta for mig-23 is ok to me. fyi, i have mig-23 but never play it. f-104j and su-17m2 still have flare for countermeasure. f-104 at br 10.3? it has 6 aim9p, has flare, and it runs very fast. so it is balanced, even f-5t cannot catch it unless the pilot decided to turn, then still can use flare.
many of my kill using cannon instead of python. can you countermeasure irccm with flare below 2.5km? yes, possible but 80% failed.
can you do the same with all non-IRCCM? it is very easy to be flared unless the target very close below 0.5km and very slow, then I prefer to use cannon instead.

Ah yes, Mig21, a 10.X airframe all the way up at 13.0.

I dont have it, but never really feared fighting them. F-5 wins a turnfight easily, mig21 cant retain its energy in a turn.

F-5T is fine, Ive played a few games in it. Its perfectly potent at its BR. Though not as potent as the FCU with its four missiles.

The bison isnt really one of the worst threats Id even face in an F-5 with a max uptier. Things like the Mirage F1C or even the F-4S are more annoying to fight
