As I claimed earlier in this topic (maybe before you showed up)
MiG-21 Bison is strong 12.3BR plane.
But, we can’t send it directly to 12.7-13.0 because every 12.7-13.0 jets simply outclass the MiG-21 Bison. original MiG-29 with R-60M/27ER can be a perfect example.
Or the Mirage 2000CS-5 which has way much more CM and a better fuselage.
If you really want to send MiG-21 Bison higher than now, Bison also needs a weapon upgrade.
If we can have R-27ER/ET on Bison, we can consider it a sidegrade of MiG-29.
Better IR missile, but worse manoeuvrability. then fits more to 12.7.
For 13.0? obviously need to be armed with 4 R-73 or R-77 if we consider Kfir C.10.
It is always funny seeing Navy_Phantom trying his hardest to prove that USSR jet broken (this one isn’t even in soviet tech tree) by cherry picking everything he could and ignore people when they throw at him actual argument. He talked like he has never touched a single mig21 and now a Mig AF at 12.3 with a set of good AAM and 10km HMD now being considered as good as su27. Oh how desperate some people could be trying to win an unwinable fight

Dying to it’s 9L’s are a skill issue, they don’t have IRCCM and can be easily flared even in rear aspect by turning off the afterburner and spamming few flares. F-16’s are so overrated, almost nobody dogfights at top tier until late game on equal teams. I’ve been playing that BR bracket for last month and died to F-16A exactly zero times.
There’s a reason you aren’t responding to me, someone who does not play the 21bison and is still saying its fine. It’s because you can’t be intellectually dishonest (or deficient) and act like I’m only defending it because I own it.
Most 12.3s+ have equivalent missiles (21bison’s strength comes from the HMD/RWR/Radar, not from the missiles directly.)
That would probably be because they are using GEN4 AIRFRAMES or at the VERY LEAST a later airframe than a literal mig-21… from the 1950s… it does not do anything well regarding flight at 12.3.
Sure! If you also agree with the giant list of 150+ other planes that need to be uptiered for the same reason? oh wait you won’t because you likely play a lot of these planes? shame!
So is dying to a mig-21. It’s almost like there are pros and cons. The F-16 doesn’t have to 9L you, he can just stomp you into paste because he’s an F-16. You can’t dogfight nor run from an F-16.

“F-16’s are so overrated” yet the F16 even after all the new edition still hold their ground. I wonder is this the product of skill issue or just pure incompetent on the part of the player skill. Remember , after the ARAAM update , non of the soviet top tier jet hold a candle to what the west have and the F16 still by far way better than their Mig29 counterpart
I said overrated, not over tiered. F-16A is fine at 12.3. What I mean that it’s a situational jet, 9L’s are near useless for any aware targets sine they lack IRCCM which is common in this BR range and flight performance only really shines on dogfights which rarely happens.
This, yes! It needs to be 12.7. It’s not good for 13.0 but too good for 12.3.
