The IRCCM should be limited in how many missiles it can defeat at once, so how come when I shoot 8 aim9x’s at it, all of them get spoofed?
the DIRCCM on the Mi28NM is overperforming A LOT at the moment, it should be extremely limited and only cover the bottom-rear angle of the heli because that’s where the DIRCCM is located but in WarThunder it’s a perfect 360 dome and kept up with NATO’s DIRCCM just fine
Dev said they can’t model directional DIRCCM yet (how convenient for Russia)
I thought someone was gonna comment that I am tweaking. But I swear the amount of times I fired an AIM9X salvo from the nasams just to see all missiles AVOID the helicopter is insane
It doesn’t offer perfect coverage unlike other LDIRCMs.
but it does tho, wdym it doesnt
regardless both Russian and NATO DIRCM should only be intercepting 1 missile at a time
Not quite. It’s elevation sector is smaller than the AH-64E and Z-10ME, so it does have blind spots.
Folks from the Chinese community did a fairly detailed analysis in this video: 【颠覆认知!全先进DIRCM直升机干扰盲区实测】 https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1kMH7z4EzQ/?share_source=copy_web&vd_source=6fc1a428230df34ad6b36cfbfc5a68fc
In short, their conclusion is that the blind spots of the Mi-28NM are two opposing half cones like this:
AH64E has more than one DIRCCM turret and can counter more than one missile at once
are those are on opposite sides of the airframe though?
From what im seeing I guess it’s true that the angle is not as good as AH64E but it still covers the important angle (namely the front, which it should absolutely have no ability to) and is overperforming like I said.
God forbid Russian tech fall behind NATO
One user of this forum did a comparison between current protection angles and real ones. Basically every LDIRCM has overperforming angles of protection.
yes
Pretty sure even in one of the war thunder videos they said that DIRCCM should only counter 1 missile at a time for helicopters, I don’t know anything about the AH64E so I can’t comment on that, but I know for a fact the MI28NM and its adversary’s should only be able to counter one IR missile at a time. A lot of guides also tell you to fire more than one IR missile so the 2nd one always hits. But for the MI28NM that’s never the case, and for some chinese helicopters.
but the big difference is that other DIRCCM would be usable and is still good enough, even with realistic angle.
Mi28NM realistic angle would be essentially useless, thats why gaijin will not correct it
This is seen on tanks btw, they modelled DIRCCM on tanks right, because you can spam missiles and the missiles following the first always hit, so there’s no excuse for them not to model it on helicopters. It’s a joke tbh on gaijins part.
Just trying to point out that LDIRCM implementation in general is scuffed and added in a half assed way.
not as half assed as Russian one lmao
Okay, I just hope they’ll actually bother doing it right in near future.
That’s what I was getting at, while it could engage a missile each side, it should not be simultaneously destroying 2 or 3 missiles on a single side the way it currently is. At most it should be able to engage 2 at a time from directly in front, they don’t look like they have much overlap.
So regardless of Gaijins ability to model DIRCM coverage angels, Russian helis should only be able to engage 1 missile at a time and NATO 2.
I probably should have been a bit clearer about what I meant.
How are you even locking through the IRCM? In my experience IR missiles simply can not target the cursed helicopters so you better have a gun
