I had already changed my mind to be against the Auctions, mostly because of the exclusion of console players. This latest change however makes my decision final. I do not like a lack of transparency in any business, but this latest “I am changing the terms, pray I don’t change them any further” pushes it deeper. This is not a simple lack of transparency, [insert some applicable metaphor. I cannot think of a civil way to express it.]
I have changed my votes on the various polls users have posted to “NO” for the Auction system, and I would take back the like I left on the original post here, but am unable to.
@ Gaijin: This is a bad idea. I am one of the most ardent supporters for the company’s profit. But with all the issues and concerns I have been reading from the other players, and now having changed my mind to argue against this system, I say no. This is a 👎
The lowest bid is 23.33 GJN. What’s going on here is that Gaijin set a bid increment:
A mechanic that forces you to bid a price at least 0.5 GJN above the current lowest bid, in this case 23.33 GJN.
This essentially is done as a means of forcing the price up quicker, preventing slow 0.01 GJN price increments with each bid that leave the resulting price in the end comparatively lower. So in short what this is is another way of artificially forcing up the price, as players can’t try to barely surpass the lowest available bid to minimize their spending.
So not only is the auction a system designed to have players drive up prices, it also dictates by how much they do that.
These are also variable, with camouflages having 1 GJN instead. So assuming they sell vehicles in the future (Which they outright refuse to deny, meaning they at the very least have considerations for it) they might set it even higher, alongside a higher starting bid, resulting in the price escalating much faster.
The more I look at this, the more I believe this needs to be stopped…
Thank you for answering my question. I even got scared when I entered today and they were forcing a very high minimum bid.
I would add another important point: they have now removed the view of all bids. Before we could see all the top 100 bids, and now only the average value.
I’m worried when exclusive vehicles appear, it will be a system made for the rich, which, unfortunately, will further exclude players who can’t afford to buy some coins from the market.
@Stona_WT Since we can’t see the highest bidder the auction should stop as we can’t see the amount of money the top 100 has put into it, it’s a blind auction they can’t go hand in hand.
There will always be less lots than there is players trying to get it, which is already making it flawed.
In events a player might not get it due to skill or time constraints, but there is always the option to buy at a fixed price. For premiums it’s straignt up a ficed price. Both of these options any player can get these when available and assuming all players act within the timefram of the event or the premium being on sale they get it.
In the auction, all players can bid the same price at the same time, and still only a select number of them are allowed to get the reward since there is an artificially limited number of vehicles sold.
even if you were one of the top gaijin employees “I don’t think there will be only 100 lots for planes/tanks” is not reassuring at all
even 10 000 lots is to little given the large player-base which looking the forum numbers is close to 300 000 on something the majority wants
Agreed, the auction itself is a predatory system that shouldn’t be added.
There’s many alternatives to sell user made camos through a GE store, the website store or even just fixed price marketplace listings. Those should be done instead.
its predatory, only 2% like it, if they still just continue with this the game is doomed guess all the other changes gaijin can do if they cant even pretend to care about peoples opinions anymore
even if they are more clear than ever
and what is a skin worth in a game like the crew? oh wait nothing because the game is dead
