The auction is a new way to distribute player-created content. In addition to trophies, we’ll now select a few more pieces of work from those not included in them and release them to the auction in limited edition.
How does the auction work?
Trading is carried out using a special currency called Gaijin Coin, the same currency already used on the Gaijin Marketplace.
“Lots” with a minimum bid are put up for auction, which will open for bids at a set time and date. Bidding lasts for a certain amount of time so that everyone who wants to can make their bids.
There is a starting price for each item, so to make a bid you’ll need at least that amount of GJN on your account. The amount you bid is frozen until the end of the bidding or until you make a new bid. Be careful, as you cannot cancel the bid. If you win, you receive the item and the amount is debited from your account, otherwise the amount you bid is returned to your account.
If you’re outbid, (or in the case of multi-item auctions, if your bid is no longer high enough to win the item), you’ll receive a notification about this. At the end of the auction, you’ll also receive a notification of the auction result.
An auction may contain several identical items in the form of many lots — one item per lot. If this happens, they’ll be received by the players who made the highest bids, and the number of winners will be equal to the number of auction lots. For example, if there are 1,000 participants in an auction for 100 lots, the item will be received by 100 players who had the highest bids at the end of the auction.
If players with the same bid compete for the remaining item, then the first bidder will have the advantage since they bid first. One player can only buy one lot from an auction.
In the auction interface, you’ll see the values of the current leading bids.
Auction Rules
- After the auction ends, items that are not declared as coupons will be automatically activated on your account. Camouflage coupons will be added to your inventory.
- Players who purchased camouflage coupons will not be able to sell them on the Market immediately, but after at least 180 days.
- Items that are put up for auction cannot appear there again for a year.

- Quantity: 100 pieces
- Starting price: 1 GJN
- Bid Increment: 1 GJN
Possible to sell on the Market from August 11th 2025.

Possible to sell on the Market from August 11th 2025.
Bids on these lots will be accepted until February 10th (15:30 GMT).
Players who purchase at least one of these lots will also receive the “Inverted Jenny” decal. This is a 1918 U.S. postage stamp, where the Curtiss JN-4 airplane was mistakenly depicted upside down. This stamp has become especially rare and valuable among philatelists.

Additional info:
We released the Auction with the intention of making it an experimental feature, aimed to support community content creators. The items that will be offered for sale will be made by content creators and the authors of these items will get a percentage from the total sales as a reward.
We may add other cosmetic items besides the ones currently available during the Auction testing period. The purpose of the Auction is to provide an opportunity to purchase cosmetic items of interest without having to rely on luck, as well as to give authors the opportunity to receive a reward that corresponds to the demand for the items they create.
Todace:
We are not willing to sell vehicles on Auction and via trophies/marketplace.
First of all - we do not like the idea of making our hard work available only for a few. That is in a way not bad for customization - as customization is a way to make you unique in presentation, but not in terms of gameplay. But not good for vehicles. We were making several time limited options to purchase vehicles in several cases for different reasons, but in general that is not we do like.
We prefer to see our vehicle be available for anyone it anytime (or at least at certain times). FOMO is real thing that will work in any limited options (events, discounts, etc), but not the thing on what you can make long-time relationship. And amount of vehicles in War Thunder requires long-time relationship, you know what I mean, I guess. That’s why we reconsider research times and prices each year and that’s why we are returning some rare vehicles like E100 or Maus (which we have and do not want to see much on the game cause of known reasons) to the game. So even such vehicles we do not want to put in Auction (and never wanted of it).Another reason (not the main) why we are not going to put vehicles in Auction is that purchase in GJN are the best for content creators revenue share (or even the only option) , but they also not available for console players, which is also very unpleasant and obviously not we are happy about.
The reason of ‘refusal to deny’ is that are very old discussions (and as in most cases - come from players suggestions) is to have some kind of option to get vehicle (for limited time or perpetual) when you buy a skin (cause otherwise if some player want a skin but do not have vehicle - there is not much sense for him to buy a skin until he get the vehicle). We are not planning that anytime soon, never even have detailed concept (there are some complications in terms of research and game progression system). This thing (if would be ever made) would provide something like ‘oh, now they sell vehicles via Auction’, ofc technically it would be that, but obviously that would give an EXTRA way to get the same vehicle can be purchased via gaijin store\gold(premium)\ or regular research tree. Again, we are not even have a detailed suggestion, do not plan it. But this is an option of how to provide more ways for players to get the same vehicle, not a way to get extra money by replacing current ways to get vehicles.
Most developers are scared of how players can percept any changes in progression, store and everything. The Auction was made several years ago, being proposed before Marketplace, but as most are afraid of (some?) players reactions it hadn’t been released.
I personally think that Auction is naturally fit the idea of selling pieces of art (which skins are) so forced to give it a try. May be I’m wrong and no one like it. Or may be we need to change details of how it made (from amount of items which are on Auction to currency of it).Hope I’ve addressed your concerns. Thanks.
