Notice how you guys didn’t mention about vehicles getting added here. Gee I wonder why, its like you’ll implement that “feature” in a later date…
This is a scummy idea, to think you guys would drop to WOT level of monetization is just plain sad. Instead why don’t you make the content creators/authors of these cosmetic items cost GE? Or add them at a set cost of GJN?
The fact you guys have not finished the roadmap, but used resources to develop this utter garbage. Have you guys forgotten this? Have you not learned?:
You have once again deeply disappointed me.
they most probably saw it in wot and said they definitely want it here too
You know you’ve really messed up when TEC makes some solid arguments
indeed i really liked the point of content creators get the blow-back of unoptainable skins
so content creators also lose(unless they want to be recognized has greedy )
but the free Abrams guy shows being to close to gaijins values isn’t a good thing

It is impprtant for my gameplay that vehicles are not locked behind the inflated prices and artificially limited numbers of an auction, yes.
Still, you didn’t once mention why you like the auction. Only why you don’t care. If you don’t care, then maybe support fellow players, especially those that do spend money to keep the game alive.
Please compare auctioning small numbers of a few skins to the 100 highest bidders, currently sitting at ~8.000GJN, but we can estimate with 15.000GJN for the sake of it in the course of the week.
Now take the GE store and put in player made camouflages, camouflages that Gaijin doesn’t actually move a muscle for as they are published by players on WT Live. Say you price them at 300GE a piece, equivalent value to 2GJN each.
Then make sure to have each vehicle branch (Air, Ground, Heli, Bluewater, Coastal) represented for each nation, and you get a total of 44 skins, maybe round to 40 for the nice even number. Change this selection weekly with new camos each week, all available in infinite numbers at this fixed price.
This makes it so that each camo would need to be sold only 375 times in this time to make the same value. With ~60.000 rounded down average active players that is less than 0.63% of players needing to decide to buy an inexpensive, yet still rare and time limited camouflage to bring the same value.
I guarantee you that is less than there is people trying to bid on camouflages right now, so actual profits would likely still be higher.
Sure this number is multiplied by 40 for the different camos, so 25% total, but considering that is active players at a time, the actual number of people playing the game and potentially paying is also much higher. Even active players at a time often shoot past 100.000, and those that do buy content tend to buy more than one as well.
And all of that that can still be adjusted by offering more camos (which is less work for them than making the auction system) or setting the GE price higher. 500GE, or 3.3GJN in equivalent value might still be something people buy (if maybe less frequently).
So basically what I’m getting at here is there is other, less predatory ways to make money.
This is what Gaijin should be going for, rather than alienating a large part of their paying playerbase.
Or just…fix the countless issues and add more than like…2 vehicles an update that aren’t just copies in 5 different trees idk. Or redesign some of the awful maps…or deal with many of the toxic gameplay elements. But wait, MONEY!
I think the only logical conclusion is that they’ll start selling old/rare event vehicles like IS-7/Object 279 in small batches every few months to get some easy cash.
Offering 50x Object 279s for 300 GJN each would make them some serious cash by doing little to no work.
Also. This is how you get creator skins out there? Super limited runs abusing fomo for way over cost? Maybe just…use your already existing marketplace?? Where it will sell FAR more quantity and inevitably earn MORE for the creator, or some other new system that sells creator skins permanently.
I think he raises a good point that it’s odd that the two camoes this time are anonymous, when the whole point is supposed to be promoting creators. Normally we always got the creator names, I’ve even said hey in game to one or two over the years and “keep up the great work.”
I assumed these two were done by company artists and that’s why there’s no creator names this time, but if they weren’t and the policy is going to be to leave off their names, this would become another 10% sketchier.
The whole situation seems dubious, with a lack of transparency about who the content creators are and the percentage they receive.
It’s likely that content creators only get 30% while Gaijin takes 70%, which doesn’t seem to genuinely support content creators but rather benefits themselves, using it as a façade / Front.
If you want honesty, thats how its coming across.
i have heard they say its a test so no creator this time
but how TEC already said who wants its name on such a scam product and feel the backlash (for 30% of the revenue )
at that point go all in and promote a pump and dump crypto/nft and get much higher profit
I can’t wait for the Auction only vehicles to start coming out that will only hurt the console player base even more since they don’t even have the market place nor any of the small packs or the event camos to be purchasable on there.
I mean really this game has become worst than EA titles games. And that’s pretty pathetic to say the least.
makes me think they already thought of that and its just another way (like the current cosmetics and test wording)
to make the Hydrochloride acid easier to swallow
So my own theory is they can see there’s a ton of camo creators on WT.live, but they are limited by the 40 per update they can stuff in the update camo box. Those creators do get 30% of earnings, which works out to about GJN0.02 per camo per key sold, which seems a pretty good deal (with a small ongoing residual).
So they are opening up another channel for camo sales, but the creators here will be offered the fixed rate in the contract (150-800 GJN up front per camo if you choose the Auction option instead of hoping to be chosen for the next box). They can offer as many more camoes (limited-edition basis) as people take them up on the offer that way.
Concerns it will extend past non-cosmetics seem premature to me. I do think, as TEC says, they’re seeing a lot of GJN sloshing around, more than they can soak up through the store and marketplace. So this would help them economically as well, as it can be problematic to have too much in-game currency floating out there, too.
I do think the lots are way too small and the wait time on resales too long for me ever to have any interest in this offering myself. But it doesn’t really hurt my game that it exists, either, and yeah, if I see creator names on the next batch I’ll be more inclined to take their word this is just about increasing the variety of skins and other cosmetics in game.
again like a lot of people have said they could sell them for a fixed rate
and even offer infinite sellers(like the current chest keys) for vehicles to cap the sell price to something reasonable
THIS WOULD ALSO COMPLETELY FIX THE CHANCE ISSUE for ever
i was playing different a game and scrolled thought the skin section and found skins with a steam dollar price tag on it (instead of the usual premium currency ) turns out those were community skins so its that easy if gaijin really wanted to help both us and the creators
And that where it’s gonna end up, imagine the FFA P-16 being up for auction instead of being at a fixed price tag.
These concerns wouldn’t be their if Gaijin would offer a confirmation that such an extension won’t take place. Until now they completely refused to deny it, which is where the concerns come from.
And of course even then the value of their promises isn’t all that great when taking many from the past considering how much they like to argue semantics and figure out loopholes.
For example “No top tier premiums” started as meaning no jets would be sold, then no top rank premiums, then events were turned non-premium and offered for events, and now they sell top rank premiums stating they aren’t top BR.
So a clear statement is what we need. Gaijin has to say:
“We will never sell vehicles or other non-cosmetic items trough auctions, or other artificially limited quantity, inflated price systems. Every vehicle or other non-cosmetic item will forever have to be available as a playable event, and/or fixed price purchase option not exceeding double digits in GJN ($/€) equivalent value first, before entering systems such as (but not limited to) the Gaijin Marketplace.”
…otherwise we can’t trust the auction. And even then it’s still a bad system, only a compromise limiting the egative effects to non-essentials.
