There’s three sides to this, players, content creators and Gaijin.
The good
- More cosmetic options added to the game
The bad
- Artificially limited availability on camouflages
- Highly inflated prices for game content
- Need to purchase GJN to participate, which can’t be refunded, forcing a player to spend money even if they don’t “win” the right to buy
- No console availability
- Possibility of escalation into more aspects of the game (such as vehicles)
The good
- Additional option to get their content into the game
- Good pay (possibly)
The bad
- Their hard work is limited to obscurity
- Bad pay (possibly)

- Additional income
- Generally high prices
- Low effort (since camouflages would be player made)
- Possibility to expand past cosmetics
The bad
- Limited sales due to limited quantity
- Limited target customers due to inflated prices
- Limited target customers due to lack of console support
- Negative reputation
Overall I’d say other options, such as for example a weekly rotating camouflage store for user camos and seasonal items (such as the profile frame) as a GE based store in the game would be a lot more beneficial to all, so I hope that is considered instead.

I want to be fair.
But I cannot understand—if the developers are so passionate about the game, why are they making these changes? If these changes in the Auction weren’t made by the developers themselves but were instead ordered from above, I struggle to see how this is can be so black and white. Are there no higher-ups who are as passionate about the game as studios like Arrowhead?
I just don’t get it. There are so many bullet holes in this game that remain unpatched. Wouldn’t better motives and treatment of the community lead to more doubloons? One of the reasons I bought Helldivers 2 was because of the passionate dev team—like the CEO who stepped down to a lower position so a more capable person could take charge.
One of the reasons I haven’t spent more than 40 euros on this game is because it feels untrustworthy. Why are we getting so much copy-paste content? Imagine if, instead of the M26 copy-paste, we got the Rocket T-62. The videos around it would be popular and drive more player to install this game. This just feels like corner-cutting to push content out. I don’t want these SPAA’s.

It is poor form to change the rules after the game.
You spent 144,65GJN on cosmetics, which is perfectly fine if you have the disposable income and feel good about it.

I think the majority of players thinks that they can get at least 2, maybe more, premium vehicles for that amount of money which help with the grind and give SLs…I’m certainly one of them :)
In this case it’s a good change though.
It only made it so all player pay an equal price, which was selected to be the minimum bid (lowest possible price). That’s a change that’s literally only good for players, and bad for nobody except Gaijin who could’ve made more money off keeping them high.
It’s a net positive.
The message community waited for, but did not receive (yet). When the WT marketing manager will publish its verdict on the auction thing? Will it be the first and the last time we see this anti-consumer feature!?

Can you put in a word for the withdrawal of GJ back into currency. Otherwise this still remains somewhat predatory as money is still received for failed bids.

As far as the auction, the format is not well done. There is no real way to tell where you are in the auction and I can not find any way to check the results. Once the auction is over, the page no longer exists in the market. The flash screen that came up gave me no real information on where I was and what happened with the bids. There are plenty of auction websites you can visit to see how they do their sales. I used to work for a collector shop that sold items on Ebay. There was never any question where you were in the bidding, how the bidding history was and you can look at the results at any time. during and after the auction. Personally I don’t like this system.
First of all - we do not like the idea of making our hard work available only for a few. That is in a way not bad for customization - as customization is a way to make you unique in presentation, but not in terms of gameplay. But not good for vehicles. We were making several time limited options to purchase vehicles in several cases for different reasons, but in general that is not we do like.
We prefer to see our vehicle be available for anyone it anytime (or at least at certain times).
In fact, there are items only available to a few. The gift boxes, like the current snake boxes, rely entirely on chance to get a skin, decal or vehicle and the system does not take into account items the player already has. If you get a vehicle, decal or the like, and it is something you already have, it switches to silver lions with no chance to trade for something you don’t have on the marketplace. There are also items, especially vehicles, that you can win that are not tradable on the marketplace and no one will get the chance to see them unless the player beats the odds.
In one of your competitor’s games (World of Warships) their reward system recognizes what items the player already has and will reward the player with something the player does not posses and this includes the vehicles.
On top of this there are exclusives that are offered to first time players, players on other systems and other servers that are not available to all players. There are vehicles listed in the Wiki that were one time rewards that have never come up again, even in the gift boxes. Decals and skins have the same issue. In fact, there are several things that only a few can have and the unlucky, recent players, players that don’t have the budget and players on other consoles and severs can never have.
