MBT-2000 balance problem

People have already shown there are 10.3s superior to it. All 10.7s are definitely superior to it.
T-90S is superior at 10.3, better armor, same ammo.
Reverse speed doesn’t matter as much as people think, it’s nice, but not as useful in CQC…

T-80Bs sole advantage over the MBT-2000 is the ever so slightly better hull armour at certain spots - but it’s less mobile due to lower reverse speed. Seems like the MBT-2000 is good enough to be 10.3 to me.

Then there’s a 2A4, which has no armour what’so’ever when it comes to fighting those MBTs, thus in an open space it’s at a major disadvantage. The things it does better than MBT-2000 and T-80B are;

  • gun handling
  • gun depression
  • reverse speed (compared to the T-80B)

Whereas MBT-2000 has very likely equeal mobility to the 2A4, has better ammunition (can easily penetrate all 10.3 tanks through their hulls, and ~90% of Western tanks through their turrets, of course discounting stuff like T-90S and T-72Bs, but both are far less mobile), and significantly better armour. Adding all those factors, MBT-2000 doesn’t fit the BR it’s currently at, it’s good enough to compete with 10.3 MBTs, but if we discount the reverse speed as you claimed (thus one of most mentioned points when it comes to Russian vs Western MBTs), 2A4 hasn’t got that many advantages over those two tanks, in fact it only gets 2, but has to pay the price by having inferior munitions and significantly inferior armour - if MBT-2000 can be 10.0, lower 2A4 there as well.

It wasn’t really a serious suggestion in regards to the 2A4, but as you can see, it goes both ways and tanks have to make sacrifaces in certain areas to perform better in others.

As it stands, MBT-2000 is very easly a 10.3 tank, and if Gaijin fixes its armour (they nerfed the hull NERA significantly just to make it sit at 10.0, and just like the PSO, its UFP cannot shatter APFSDS even at excessive angles of attack), it can be 10.7 (then again, I’ve seen people use it and get nukes due to its mobility and firepower - it could be 10.7 already…, and 2PL is sitting at 11.3 with AIM while being worse in every single regime…).

MBT-2000 & 2A4 are equal on turret weakspots.
If it goes to 10.7, so does Leopard 2A4 & many others.

The entire turret of a 2A4 is a weakspot to mid-tier projectiles that are used at 10.3 such as L26, 3BM-42 or 125-I, especially from an off-angle.

Show me proof that any of those projectile can do the same to MBT-2000s turret without aiming for non-ERA covered spots, actually, now that I checked that tank further, even non-ERA covered spots that actually have composite can reach 620mm+ in terms of KE protection… so, good luck.

edit: and of course Razer’s not going to answer me :)

Strange, why only eastern tanks have KE-proof armor like this?

Better armor is obviously a tradeoff for many things eastern tanks lack at that BR.
