Maus - Threat or punching bag?

This topic is for discussing the effectiveness of the Maus in combat from the perspective of other players.

The Maus is a very iconic tank. Many novice players who have just arrived at 7.7 must have already had their first unforgettable experience encountering one for the first time and spending all their APHE rounds, which only penetrate 150mm, in a pure act of desperation, not knowing what to do. But for those more experienced players who know what ammunition to use and where to shoot (which is the majority), the story is different.

The point is: Currently, many more experienced players, both those who face the Maus and those who use it, raise the discussion of whether the Maus is really a threat considering its characteristics (being the size of a house, being slow, and having one of the easiest guns to hit).

In your view, as players who have used or faced Maus, do you really think he is a threat or an easy tank to kill depending on skill? If you think it’s easy, what would be the reason?

Its a threat, even with HEAT (90mm most pf the time) its hard to kill it because of the many crew. Also many people dont know to angle the turret when reloading.

Last time I faced a Maus, there was a Maus in our spawn and 4 of our guys couldnt kill it, I had to flanl it with my aml90.

Threat to all other than a very small amount of vehicles that can sit far enough away to be hard to aim at

AML-90 is based

It is not, just another failed piece of machinery. A bigger truck doesn’t make the labor more efficient.

That’s every tank in war thunder against a novice player is3, t34, etc. even a jumbo shocks a noob player when it can’t be a one tap and requires more experience apart from pointing and shooting.

As a novice yes, lack of experience and easy frustration makes the maus or any tank a pain in the butt. As an experienced player now no. It’s slow, has 2 cannons and moves like garbage. Put it in the German tree and it’s an easy kill. A spaa can make a Maus J out easily by bullying it.

Well it’s a heavy tank through and through. It’s very good at combatting KE projectiles but dies to HEATFS and artillery caliber HE. It’s an easy kill if you know what ur doing

This is partly due to the ±1 combined with the fact that it’s at 7.7. This makes it fall short against some much more powerful tanks like the Bradley at 8.3 and some other tanks that already use much more advanced ammunition.

How I feel after I see a maus in my Object 122 MT with APFSDS and 450mm pen ATGMs at 8.7
