Mandatory 3 tank lineup

people 1DL due to
1- rage quit
2- they paid for a premium vehicle and the other tanks in their line up are low tiers
3- no backup cards in case of the previous point
4- bad map not suitable for their playstyle or favorite vehicles
5- team getting steamrolled way too early
6- dogwater internet connection or a chicken peck the cable button and shut down the PC

some suggestions that would probably improve this issue:

  • penalty for leaving before the match ends which reduces RP and SL
  • a non invasive icon somewhere in the screen that allows the player to see if they have a wager or booster activated (so they prefer to stay and attempt to make more kills or complete the objective)
  • making an oficial poll with the most liked and disliked maps and the reason behind it for devs to take in consideration for future map design and either disable the most disliked ones or improve the aspects that players hate about them or even resurrect some old maps that players used to enjoy

Nope, there is a scaling flat RP/SL bonus based on time in game, but all other rewards don’t scale. Make ALL rewards scale. If your ODL are getting 1krp or less every game they are never going to be researching anything and have little incentive to keep up the disruptive behavior.

That is a bad idea to have rewards directly tied to the overall length of the match. Tying them to time spent in the match would be much better, and it prevents low rewards for steamrolling the other team.

Still, reward players for staying instead of decreasing rewards in an already low reward game mode.

Disagree with this.
Penalizing players will never, ever change the behavior.

If this were the implemented nothing stopping players from just sitting in the lobby while the game plays out - they could be getting a drink or snack or letting the dog out, etc…

Steamrolling teams should be low reward. Drawn out tough battles should be more rewarding.

The reward for time in battle is usually about 50% of the reward, sometimes less based on performance. I want ALL rewards to scale, not just time in battle.

We already have skill reward and it didn’t change much when it comes to people mindset

Players should not be punished for being good.

That’s an objective nerf to what we have now, and it will make SL gains a major issue again. This will also suck for air RB if added there, because matches are even shorter than GRB.

If you want to make rewards scale, base it on the amount of time spent spawned in the battle, compared to the total battle length (with 100% time in battle being equal in rewards to a 25 minute match with equivalent performance)

Being good has very little to do with steamrolling usually. Its rarely 1 person doing the steamrolling. ODLs contribute far more as weight of numbers has a lot of advantages in the early part of a game.

It is a good team fault that enemy team has stopped fighting/is not good enough, we should put a penalty at them!

That was a comment based on CURRENT rewards.
If you are actually complaining about one death leavers in Air RB… you might have some mental problems.

‘we did very little work and got a lot of kills, we should be rewarded the same as a tough fought battle’. Works both ways.

And it should be applied both ways.

It is not a good team’s fault that enemy is not good enough or doesn’t want to fight.

maybe not just a penalty but also a slight increase in the reward for those who play the match until the end, something like 15~25% extra reward if you finish the match and 50% less if you quit, with an automatic expel in case you dont select any vehicle if available for 1:00~1:30

Please learn that you can’t solve a problem by punishing the people who are using the tools at their disposal to avoid crappy gameplay. Fix the underlying issues on why people feel the need to ODL and you’ll have the solution.

If all you can come up with is punishments, you’re probably just too emotional and need to settle down and think up something real.

As I said - penalties will not change the behavior.

If people see no hope in the battle, or realize that particular battle will be the opposite of fun, they will leave. Period.

I’ve left battles after 1 death when I see my team doing the dumbest things - often it is the lemming-train to one cap (in a 3-cap battle) followed by all of them going to the enemy spawn. But there are many other examples… like my team sitting and just camping while the opponent caps and drains our tickets.

No punishment will coerce me to stay in those stinker battles. I’ll ODL regardless.

There’s no way of addressing the issue, which is why Gaijin hasn’t done anything about it.

Don’t waste GE on extra crew slots. There’s no point, when majority of your teammates won’t spawn in more than once in majority of your matches. Its extremely uncommon to have teammates and enemies that spawn in more than 3 times. Those matches are the most fun as well. However the community will blame the ‘grind’ for spading vehicles and what not. Some have the mindset that the match is determined within the first 3 minutes, which can be true sometimes, however there’s been many times where people have come back and won.

Like genuinely how do you address the situation? If people want to 1DL, all crew slots are locked. They could take it a step further and lock all crew slots regardless of if theres a vehicle in it or not. You can’t punish people for it. Its just an crappy situation overall because it ruins the game for those that like to spawn in more than one tank and for those of us that spent money on the extra crew slots.

Splitting the matchmaker will just make queue times longer, at 13.0 even playing by yourself the queue times can get into the 3-5 minutes.

My personal solution is by voting with my wallet, and no longer spending money on the game. If I knew the one lifer situation was going to get worse, I would’ve never spent a dollar on GE to buy extra crew slots.

It isn’t ‘punishing’. thats your words. its valuing staying in the game, which is what nearly everyone in this thread wants. Its putting value on respawning multiple times and keeping your team’s chances alive. ODLs ruin games for everyone not themselves.

It is quite literally punishing since you’re advocating for nerfing rewards even further than they already are if you leave earlier than match end.

By your logic, isn’t the presence of ODLs punishing players for playing the game correctly?

Rewards are an incentive. nerfing rewards for playing in a way detrimental to intended gameplay is a form of balancing.
