But you are missing my point? You are poopooing the use of the term copy-paste for certain situations but then advocating for using the word clone instead, when they are quite literally like for like synonyms?
I appreciate that you are making distinctions between exact copy pastes, historical copy pastes, gameplay copy pastes etc, but I wholeheartedly fail to see how the introduction of a new word into the situation, that means the exact same as the existing terminology, is in any way a meaningful difference?
Not to mention, as already discussed, a ‘legitimate variant’ is a wholly subjective term that will mean different things to different people. Does an engine or main armament change make a vehicle a ‘legitimate variant’? Almost certainly. What about some new optics? Potentially, depends how different they are? New smoke launchers? Maybe. New stowage boxes? Maybe not. New headlights? Eh. New camouflage? Probably not. At what point do you draw the line as to what makes a variant ‘legitimate’?
As I have said from the very beginning of this conversation, this is simply not set in stone and doesn’t fit into neat little boxes no matter how many new words and phrases you try and throw at the situation.

The video originally used an extremely clickbait thumbnail before it was changed. It showed War Thunder supposedly having 144,000 players in 2018 and only 64,000 in 2026, despite that just not being true.
stuff like steamdb shows the exact opposite trend. According to SteamDB, War Thunder averaged roughly 21,000 concurrent players in June 2018, compared to around 85,000 this month on Steam alone.
After watching the video itself, I found many arguments questionable. especially this one
“Naval, basically abandoned, nobody plays it, but Gaijin keeps spending thousands of dollars on new models. Keep in mind a highly detailed model costs between $10,000 and $40,000. Remember that when they add a naval vehicle.”
so i guess gaijin should completely abandon naval if it was up to him?

Yeah. I support rants generally but
- Naval definitely breaks even
- No to copy paste premiums might fuel the narrative of this update. Fan favourites as premiums
And 3) where that 10K to 40K comes from. Does this guy know the purchasing power of 10K in europe?
