Really surprised they didn’t do that considering the “early” thing. From what I’ve seen Thai AV-8S got AIM-9L from the start (though Thailand had AIM-9P in inventory too), so an earlier one without 9L would be Spanish.
But maybe they plan to add the Spanish AV-8S somewhere else, so they don’t want to have the camo in two different trees.

even then the fact they actually have a range of 20kms means they are far safer then the brimstones and with IR and IOG they have only gotten better
