pantsir and tungsuka cant technically defend themselves against ground and low flying helicopters and jets the type 81 c is limited and its one role you are trying to eyeball the entire map
Honestly… Armour on an SPAA is rather irrelevant. You dont survive a direct hit in most SPAA, except the Pantsir and FlakRad and probably the ItOs which can wierdly survive 120mm HESH rounds
Why did you name two SPAAs with guns and missiles which are very well equipped to deal with both jets and Helis
I have literally stared at tigers and ka50/52s sitting on they spawn literally killing me with a atgm while I fail to lock them with the type 81

I shouldnt hasve to question if bringing a type 87 is better then a type 81 the type 87 has some useful things that the type 81 doesnt have yes

Type 99 is also an option XD, but yeah the type 81 can’t reliably lock helis past 4ish KM even with its Optic mode

Although I will say pretty much every nation except Russia for the most part needs a new SPAA. Especially Italy. And I’d say I’m a Japan main, but playing the OTOMATIC trying to shoot down SM3s and F-16s is a joke
