Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

best they can do, is another leopard

you would think US cas would be one of if not the strongest in game followed by british due to the military doctrine.

yet as you say, why do some countries get cas, even brimstone now is better than most of what japan, china, italy, Germany, sweden and isreal can field.

never mind only one nation having an spaa that can counter these calibres of weapon systems. i

id rather see the game become balanced, focused on making trees equal , than just ramming copy n paste into every minor nation n calling it a day

8, like they can currently

Interesting.

The A → B upgrade is purely software upgrades and refinements to the tracking hardware. For all intents and purposes are identical

The way I see it it is inevitable to have subtrees if the game wants to have equally capable factions. But I also believe that trees should be structured differently.

Instead of one nation with other nations providing support, it should be multiple countries that are simply foldered. That way there is no need to flood nations with vehicles of others, but there is still a concept of multiple nations being used together to fix problems that many nations would have on their own.

Effectively it is the same as we have now. For example you would still have Britain and South Africa together in one faction, but instead of both being in the British nation, the British nation is foldered with a South African nation that uses the same lineups.
They can be used on their own if a player wants to, but can also be used together the same way you currently can.

that literally makes no sense if theres upgrades to the tracking software and hardware then it is an upgrade by the definition of the word, they are infact different and teh B is better than teh A it is not an identical missile as it is in WT

im using the term minor nation as its quite stupid to call france, britian, china, and isreal minor nations, hell even japan has a pretty sturdy army.

yet in game theyre treated like useless little trees that are if anything sub trees not worth grinding.

and that idea you had while i like it seems really convoluted n difficult to pull off without someone getting butt hurt af

The F-2 likely won’t get added for another couple of updates because of its radar. They could add prototypes of the F-2 instead with some gimped radars but it’s unclear to me if these would be able to mount any kind of guided A2G weaponry due to Japans laws. Either way, the addition of subtrees in the long run really helps build playable lineups for nations like Japan that don’t have many vehicles overall.

Is that another Japanese IFV? It’s hard to tell when most 4x4’s start to look the same.

This is related to the Type 16 MCV, and more closely to the CTWV RCV.

The ICV differs from the RCV in that the former has an unmanned turret, and lacks the observation mast. Cosmetically, it also loses the satcom on the move (the bulb at the back), which will improve combat towards the rear.

These kind of “law myths” are outdated. The JASDF has various Air-to-Ground munitions in service, inlcuding AGM-65G. The F-2 can get up to eight GBU-38 or GBU-54, with the option of JDAM-ER due to technical possibility, as well as ASM-2B, on which we are unsure about its A2G capabilities though. In the future, Stealth Cruise missile based off Type 12-SSM kind are planned.

Additionally, the F-15JSI is planned to get JASSM-ER. The sale of these has already been approved.

There are some other missiles in development currently, but the F-2 can also take the supersonic ASM-3 and the longer range ASM-3A.

Well I know now they can possess these weapons but if I’m not mistaken when these kinds of vehicles were developed/bought they couldn’t have them. Like the F-15J for example that doesn’t have GBU-8s or JDAMs like the American and Israeli F-15s.

Can somebody look at how much squadron xp cost the new squadron vehicles?

There are various pictures of the XF-2s with JDAMs and many different configs, no problem there. However, an XF-2 with AN/APG-68 would likely not be able to use AAM-4.

In case of the BMP-2MD, its 400k.

Yeah… And they’ll probably be gimped in terms of performance in some way. Can’t have CN > RU.

Yes, and man am I extremely excited to finally replace the Type 89.

It’s just going to be different. J-15 will slap, it will be like an Su-34’s radar (as we’ve seen it so far), full multi-role suite, HMD, Chinese Fox-3’s and RVV’s, should have integration for PL-8 if they want too.

China will play like a more cerebral stand-off Flanker, Russian flankers will be a little more user friendly (if you know not to blow all your speed in your only turn) with more role distinction.
