What is Arjun Mk1 VIRCM?
Here is an Image of an Indian Army OT-64 during a parade in 1984. The OT-64 can mount either ATGM’s or Recoilless rifles however i am not sure if India mounted either onto their OT-64’s
Hello!
While it is true for the Akash requiring an external radar track and lock to fire effectively, I do believe they are attempting to remedy this with a soon-to-come upgrade for the Akash System, I believe called the Akash-1S or AWS, though do feel free to correct me on this, and ill promptly fix it.
some alternatives to the Akash would be:
QRSAM:
VSHORAD:
As for the Arjun Mk.1 VIRCM, the DRDO experimented with adding a soft-kill APS onto the Mk.1s before the Arjun Mk.1A, though to my knowledge never really went anywhere.
Arjun Mk.1 VIRCM:
Hope this helps!
Hello again! In this TT version we see the addition of 11 new vehicles, Some changes to the BRs of some vehicles, and saw the removal and changing of certain vehicles to improve the “uniqueness” of our Tree! To Start, lets go over some of the new vehicles!
Arjun Mk.1 Early
QRSAM
Pinaka
Sarath II
Ferret ZPU-2
Added Vehicles:
In addition to vehicles being added, some other vehicles were removed or changed:
“🛞Abbot” has been changed to “VE Abbot” for better realism and consistency
“🛞9K33” has been removed
“🛞Centurion Mk.5” has been removed
“🛞Bren UC” has been removed
In order to better match in-game BRs and realistic assumptions, the BRs of some vehicles have been changed:
“🛞Centurion Mk.3” has been raised to 7.7
“9K33M3” has been lowered to 11.0
_ “🛞AMX-13” has been raised to 6.7
To conclude with the new tree statistics, the tree now has a whooping total of 120 vehicles, beating over the entire GB ground tree and is nearly as large as the American Tree, the US tree having 128 vehicles. We’ve managed to also reduce the amount of copy-pastes in the tree, from 25% to 20%, which is a remarkable improvement, as it now stands amongst most other trees regarding “uniqueness”, with China being 43% copy-paste, Italy being the same with 20% copy-paste, and just over Sweden, them being 18% copy-paste.
.
Overall, we look forward to hearing your feedback and continously strive to improve.
Happy Hunting!
Thanks for the info on the Arjun VIRCM, didn’t know about this project.
As for Akash, there have been some upgrades done and even a new version of the missile is coming, but none of them has the launchers and the radars on the same vehicle. Same is the case for the QRSAM as well.
For the VSHORAD, it has the promise of getting integrated with a mobile platform, but yet to complete its development trial.
Hell yeah
India, Turkey and Iran are for me the 3 nations that must be independent tech tree
I love the Nepali Ferret
Looks like there is a T90 Mk 3 under development by CVRDE. In a recent post by Indian Army on Twitter it was referred as T90 mk 3.
Not much is known about this upgrade but I think it would be having Indian APS and anti drone systems as well as RCWS.
Sounds like a rank 9 vehicle! I would love to see the source/post!
Here is the link to the post. x.com
This post only mentions the T90 Mk 3 and nothing related to what it will have or not.
My assumption is based on this article https://www.vayuaerospace.in/article/648/indian-army-tanks-to-get-aps where it is said that the Indian Army is looking for an APS for T90 tanks.
any pictures?
Currently we don’t have any info on this upgrade but for quite some time there have been ongoing proposals from Indian companies about integrating the APS on the tank.
One example that can be seen in the pic, was shown through a model in Defexpo 2016 by Tata Power SED but it went nowhere.
how do i help in design of this TT?
Well, seeing the fact that if all of this was added to Britain’s current tree, it would be hell to grind, I’m in for this. Although it’s a lot of copy and paste, lots of other nations have it. A
India has a new WhAP design under testing… This time the armoured vehicle is showcased only as an NBC variant of the WhAP and has been manufactured by Mahindra.
Although, currently there is a lack of firepower for it as it has only been armed with an RCWS for 12.7mm machine gun but hopefully in future it will also be tested with a proper turret.
What are those red pipes in the back?
Those are markers to identify contamination zones. Once a contamination zone is identified by the vehicle it marks the area with these rods. This system can also be found on the BMP NBC recee vehicle.
The vehicle itself is having a lot of sensors to identify nuclear, biological and chemical fallouts after any adverse event.
The Kestrel prototype is actually designed by DRDO and Tata is the manufacturing partner for it. This particular vehicle is an evolution of the Kestrel design with Mahindra as its design partner. There are going to be 2 more designs by L&T and Kalyani which are yet to be unveiled. These will then contest for the Indian Army requirements.
In coming years we are going to see a lot of variants of these base platforms. Some concepts have already been showcased in case of Kestrel like its Light tank variant which was showcased with a 105mm gun turret.
Currently it is just a mockup and not a real vehicle but developments are ongoing for light tank as well spaa variants of these vehicles.
I see. So its just a marking device.
