Major Update Concept/Pitch - "Call of Mahabharata" - The Indian Nation & Ground Tree

Karna is the official name for the Tank EX, sometimes called the “Karna EX”

There is at least 8 prototypes of the Karna/Tank EX, i’m guessing the Tank EX may be one of the Earlier prototypes while the Karna is a later Prototype

The real question is “What is the Medak”

Hello! I appreciate the notes and criticisms, and will get them fixed shortly! As for the questions:

  1. AspandalV is correct, the Karna is a further designation of the Tank EX, back when the indian army had shown interest in the tank.

  2. The differences between the Arjun Mk.2 (P) and the Arjun Mk.1A is the prototype lacks certain features, those being:

  • Less Composite Blocks along the sides of the tank

  • Roof-Mounted MGs

And the Arjun Mk.1A does include in addition to what was mentioned before:

  • Improved and more Smoke grenades

  • LWS (Please do fact check me on this of I am wrong)

For comparision, here are the photos of the Prototype and production models:

And this is the production model of the Arjun Mk.1A:

I hope this helps! And if you have any more questions, do let me know!

The “Medak” refers to the Heavily upgraded/modified Sarath BMPs produced by Ordinance Factory Medak, using an improved 30mm gun, better ATGMs, advanced eletronic systems, and a updated and better protected chassis & turret.

These were created as a current proposal for india’s FICV program, looking for a new IFV for india’s army.

The Medak looks like this:

I understand how the name may have been confusing, and I am open to new naming suggestions.

I hope this helps!

One question: Has India ever tested the RBS-23 because in the images below it was mounted on an Ashok Leyland Truck, more specifically a Super Stallion?

As of right now there’s no concrete evidence that I can find that says that India has tested the RBS-23, in addition as to how it seems that sweeden is still the only country to operate it. Though it is possible, I believe that it is rather unlikely due to the following:

  • India has held a stance of supporting and developing indigenous technologies rather than imports, particularly for SAM & AD systems

  • Sweden does operate leyland trucks, however im not entirely sure as to if they have been used for other than cargo and transports, the photo says otherwise I suppose

  • The RBS-23 systems to my knowledge and current research seems to suggest that it either was not to be exported or has garnered little interest, hence is still only operated by Sweden

I appreciate the suggestion, though I believe it was not used or tested by india, thus likely cannot be added, though it would be great to have as a swedish top-tier! If you have anything else, do let me know!

Thanks!

EDIT:

Not to further disprove your claim, but the images you have provided for the RBS do seem to have been taken in Sweden as well:

The first image takes place in a snowy area, which is unlikely in india, which is mostly a mix of a jungle/desert climate.

And the second image appears to have trees in the background more appropriately found in Sweden as well, as although india does have Evergreen trees, they do not grow in the shape as seen in the photo.

Yea the snowy areas in india are only mountainous not plain

India didn’t test it as far as I’m aware. I think SAAB just used the Ashok Leyland truck as a carrier vehicle.

Also in the first picture you can see a European style house in the background.

Not a big fan of the copy paste, as their is too much of it (And yes I think it is annoying in the other tech trees as well. I was not a big fan of early China either). Unique vehicles it has can go to either the British or Russia depending on. I’m all down for a Sub-Tree though, if a place for that can be figured out.

Okay i find some more info

It is intended for the Indian Army and competed in the SR-SAM contests that India put out in 2016 however it wasn’t accepted.

While the first picture of Arjun Mk 2 is indeed of its prototype, the second picture is also the prototype Arjun Mk 2 which was very close to the production standard tank.

Only difference between Arjun Mk 1A and Arjun Mk 2 is going to be the capability to launch the CLGMs. Arjun Mk 2 prototype has this capability but due to the unavailability of a proper CLGM it was dropped from the production variant.

You should add other Indian trainers too that were produced by HAL. Also I think British India produced Hawker Harts during world war 2 that are also not in game. Putting them in the Indian tech tree will give rank 1 more variety.

New Bri’ish squad vehicle?

Not for russia gaijin i beg of you

Neither should get it

The UK has plenty of IFVs to choose from and same goes for Russia

Interesting design of the tech tree but some of the BRs need to be adjusted and then you’ll see more gaps. If that is the end game looking design for vehicle additions, then it’s a little concerning.
