M1a2 sep v3

M1e3 pre-prototype by the end of this year hopefully

the thing is just a blank fire adaptor for the M2, mainly used in bluefor vs opfor training events, but the M1s were recently tested with mounting the M134 instead of the M2

Its seems like there might possibly be an updated trophy aps configuration. Also notice the drone launchers on the back.

This is not a depiction of any actual Abrams configuration. This a model that Rafael has made (and they have a history of goofy models).

Spoiler

It is highly unlikely a configuration like this is being considered by the Army for two main reasons.

  1. Trophy procured for the current fleet is intentionally a kit that can be installed at the operational unit level while forward and on both SEPv2 and SEPv3 tanks. This allows the Army to stage APS systems forward and that Army wanted a kit that can be installed without having to pull tanks from the unit and send back to a factory or even a depot. This proposal completely ruins that as to do this to any current Abrams, you have to cut open not only the bustle side armor (which actually can be done at the unit level with a good welder) but also the factory sealed DU turret side armor along the crew compartment. So this would require a factory rebuild of current SEPv2 and SEPv3 tanks which is not going to happen because of the next point:

  2. While the Army does want a more integrated APS, it will come with the all new turret of the M1E3. The M1E3 will also likely not look like this model as it is postulated to have an autoloaded unmanned turret (that turret is clearly manned).

TL:DR, this is a silly Rafael promotion model and is not likely condoned by the Army or GDLS for that matter.

So Switchblaze 300/600 will they be controlled with commander right?

Yes, I don’t know if they’ll add it to the game though. I can’t see the Switchblade 600 being added without some fuss.

3.1kg warhead, i don’t think it’ll be all that impressive so I don’t see reasonable fuss.

imagine an abrams sitting on a cap just being able to wipe out all the enemy teams AA through flying those really low

That’s something I’m sure wouldn’t be overlooked.

i mean that would happen if they add switchblade
unless they make it like spike, which is also unlikely

NLOS weapons are probably coming, BVV_d said so on blibli interview. Perhaps they’ll add small countermeasure around the spawn area.

They have been, and hopefully will keep being, pretty reluctant with adding NLOS weapons.

We know how much they ruin the game from first hand experience, it’s one of the few features I hope we will see as little of as possible in game.

For everyone, including Gaijin, none of the images listed are serviced/production SEPv3 models.

If the tank’s turret cheeks do not have the flattened armor near the mantlet, it is not a production SEPv3.

In fact, the Abrams’ cheeks are penetrated at certain angles. DM53 rounds penetrate the Abrams’ cheeks at a slight angle.

Necrons has a history of controversial/ridiculous take anyway. He keeps parroting that the hull would change nothing even though he’s wrong.

A hull providing ~520mm alongside the armored fuel tank bug report finally being implemented would pretty much make the hull immune left and right against 3BM60 point blank and would help survive the common KE-W found in the Leopard 2A4CAN. The hull at 520mm alone would prevent the tank from being a point and click adventure against the ultra common 12.0 3BM46 slinger.

Fuel tank bug report. The fuel tank should be fully enclosed with each wall being 25mm. Right now its a single 19mm wall.

What I’m saying is that increasing the Abrams’ armor is more important than ever.

I believe all of top tiers armor needs reworked. Gaijin doesn’t even get the materials right for some of these tanks.

It sure seem like more and more the devs are pointing toward something in the next update or two, as it was stated that the LWS system they are testing on the dev abrams in game isn’t coming in this patch, so maybe they are preparing for the next patch to add a new abrams?
