So the JAGM and SPIKE’s top down attack flight path bug reports were accepted but not fixed yet with official sources. https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/FVK6S6TBA9wp https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/TcmpbH5AMqsv
LMUR missiles were introduced to the game with the highest degree of attack available.
However there are no public sources available that claims that LMUR has a top down attack flight path.
The export page lists that it does have fire and forget mode, but nothing about top down attack: https://www.redstar.gr/en/russian-aerial-means/weapons/air-to-surface-missile-asm/light-multipurpose-guided-missile-305e.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com
Rostek, which owns KBM which made the LMUR publicly stated again it has fire and forget capabilities but no information on the trajectory:Telegram: View @rostecru
So the LMUR operates by either FnF or datalink to manually guide each missile. Did Gaijin give the fire and forget mode top down attack from the pilot manually guiding the missile down with datalink?
There are video footage of LMURs hitting the target from the top but at the same time it looks as if it’s guided by the pilot. They never say which mode the LMUR was fired with. https://youtu.be/fwRUXbYHgV0
I also cannot find any official sources with a diagram of LMUR’s trajectory.
So my main questions are
Are there any sources of LMUR FnF mode having autonomous top down attack flight path?
I find it unfair how LMURs were given the best AoA out of all the missiles while being the least documented. I cannot find legit anything on this missile other than “Fire and Forget”.
Ok I’ve done more looking around and I can confidently say there are no sources released by Rostec or even any russian news outlet on the LMUR having a top down attack flight path for fire and forget mode. This is an actual case of russian bias where a missile with limited sources is given the highest AoA while other missiles sit in the bug reports for years. If Spikes, Hellfires, and JAGM were given the same AoA as the LMUR, then this wouldn’t be an issue as stated in the export:
The LMUR is Russia’s first FnF missile said to match the capabilities of other Fire and Forget missiles that existed before it. However Gaijin decided to make the LMUR the first true top down fire and forget missile in the game? Where is the logic in this?
You do realize the LMUR can be controlled by the pilot through datalink?
Like I said before, all they have are videos from Ukraine, which by itself literally cannot be used, while other missiles have actual sources and test footage which can be used. Its clear what’s being done here.
the gunner does that
and secondly how would the gunner be able to do a smoth loft like that manually
just look at up “LMUR misslie ukraine” on youtube and watch some of the videos and you will see that they all have the exact same loft profile something that wouldnt be possible if a human lofts it manually
wrong they can be used for bug reports and it has been done before to make the IRST SLM smokeless
Oh wow so we’re just gonna assume you recieved training on this missile. Where are the hard facts, all you’re doing is making assumptions from a grainy video with no context whatsoever.
Ok so Gaijin will take videos of people dying? cool cool.
I’m not denying LMUR doesn’t have top down attack, they could be inferring that it has it by saying it is based on the fire and foget path from Western missiles. But Gaijin gave it true top down attack first before the western missiles even though they have actual sources compared to videos of LMUR bring used in Ukraine.
so tell me how multiple different ppl manage to do the exact same loft profile manually while flying in a helicopter that is probably shaking and stuff
yeah i dont need to argue with you anymore since you arent doing it in good faith
all you are doing is denying direct evidence to push your point
Go read the bug reports on the SPIKEs, Hellfires, and JAGMs, and tell me if what the evidence you’re providing matches the same level as what they’re providing.
And why do you keep giving me videos? Do you not know LMUR can be fired with multiple modes.
Dude no. I said READ the bug reports. Look at their evidence, and think to yourself why did LMUR get the top down treatment with absolutely zero source. It’s really funny to see a missile based on western missiles get the real values first.
I just want official source of it having top down attack. Then maybe it will make sense with videos you proivde then. Until then LMUR should get the same treatment as SPIKES, Hellfires, and JAGMs
